Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Spectacular, excellent, pick your superlative.
Skated the whole system this morning and had recent grooming. Nice coverage, even deck, solid push off and pole plants. The best conditions I have skied this year! Some tree debris and scattered thin areas under the majestic white pines but 95% of the trail was near perfect. Classic tracks were great as well. Thank you Brule groomers! Well worth the short drive from Duluth.

Just about perfect. Nice grooming of Monday's snow, Temperature just below freezing on Wednesday, Fast Wax red paste gave great glide. Both skating and classic were wonderful.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: very good with a 3 to 4" base.
Trail was groomed and track was set on Monday after 2.5" of new snow. Conditions are very good with a base of 3 to 4" and 9 to 10" in the woods. Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Fresh snow and fresh grooming in progress. Great conditions!
Just got back from kicking and gliding through Afterhours. Probably two fresh clean inches when we started. That really freshened everything up nicely. The Swix V40 Blue Extra was spot-on. Saw the groomer starting their work as we were getting done. Awesome ski today.

Grooming
[ B skis ]
All trails were groomed and tracked today except Classic Trail, which will be re-tracked tomorrow morning. Overall conditions are very good. Base varies anywhere from 1/4" to about 3 1/2". Some areas of the trail have heavy deposits of small debris (needles, bark, pine cones, twigs). There is a general unevenness throughout the trails due to lack of snow which we are unable to fix yet with our heavier grooming equipment. Have a great weekend!

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Conditions are good with a 3" base and about 8" snowcover in the woods.
Skate lanes were groomed on Tuesday and conditions are still good. Skiers can expect to find some debris in some locations on the trails due to busy squirrels and a lack of recent snowfall.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Excellent skating conditions.
Groomed after the most recent snow, and set up nicely by the cold. The icy spots are now covered. Despite temperatures just above zero, very good glide. A joy to ski!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Pretty good. Just a few bare spots, some debris.
All in all the trails were in good shape. The only bare spots I saw were about 500m from the warming shack on the rightmost trail (up the hill). Mostly I skied the classic trail which had great coverage. Some leaves in the track which is unavoidable, but really puts the brakes on when using waxable skis.

Beth and I skied Brule Saturday afternoon. Very lovely. Nice classic track, well groomed skate lane. One or two rare spots a bit thin. A few isolated areas with some debris in track--you can sure tell trees where the red squirrels eat their pine cones! Between 10 and 15 F. Snow was cold but Fast Wax paste for 5-15 F worked well for glide, Swix special green gave plenty of kick. Pictures tell the story, taken where White Pine and classic trail come close together.
