Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I groomed the skate deck on Maple, Oak, White Pine, Little Joe, River, Loop, Balsam, and all the entry's and returns this morning. No new track was set but much of it looked fair to great. Get out early to enjoy it at it's best. Expect a lot of pine debris in sections.

Fortunately groomers had just been out. That resulted in skiable snow conditions but it was a combination of soft and some chunky snow areas with a bit icy areas in the tracks. Happy to be able to have conditions good enough to ski with the high temps doing a number on our snow. Luckily, we have a lot of snow still for a base.

Icy, lots of debris. Many of the trails have not been groomed since we received an inch of snow on Monday night. Many of the trails have not been re-tracked in longer than that. Tracks and skate deck can be hazardous. I would mark this NSFS (not safe for skiing). Maybe with the warm temps it'll be softer, slower, and safer.

Very disappointing trail conditions. Icy and carved up. It appears to not have been groomed in a long time which has been my experience a lot this year.

Trail has a great base but is in some serious need of grooming which has fell off this year. Icy hard with a lot of debris.

Beautiful full moon candlelight ski! Absolutely wonderful conditions. Big thanks to all those who made last night's event so magical. It truly was one of the most well done candlelight ski events. Trails were well groomed. Classic tracks were solid with soft snow in the tracks.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Great news: Today Sally's classic has been beautifully tracked, and the skate deck has been groomed on the northern trails (from parking lot to the loop around 6 corners).

Nothing has been groomed since Thursday. I tried skating with about 2-3" of snow on the trail but gave up in frustration. The classic track has been skied in but was washed out and sloppy.

Most of the trails were freshly groomed today except for Sally's classic trail. Beautiful day to be out with the fresh snow and sunshine. I was hoping to ski the red pine loop which is a nice addition to the Brule trails but the tracks stopped about a half block into the loop and it was only groomed for skating. All of the debris from the big meltdown several weeks ago on the river trail has been cleaned up and the river trail was beautiful today skiing along side the Brule River which is still open.
