Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Beautiful ski today, trees covered in snow and sun was shining. All skate trails seemed to be rolled and groomed over last two days. Fresh groomed skate deck this afternoon. Still soft and a lot of work to ski but still good. Classic track was set, firm enough and felt fast. Overall great condition following the big snow. Great job DNR! Don't forget to drop a donation in the box for Brule Valley Ski Club to keep the grooming going!

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails were in surprisingly good shape today, with very little debris, such as pine needles and small sticks, in many areas. Track has been set and the deck is firming up nicely. I'm grateful for all the hard work that's gone into getting all trails cleared, opened up, and groomed following the heavy wet snow of a couple weeks ago, and additional new snow that continues to fall. I loved the new stretch of classic trail along the small lake. Nice job!

With the help of Cala from the WIDNR we were able to groom and track all the trails today, including the classic trail. All trails are open but expect some pine needles and sticks. There is still some occasional overhanging brush. Happy New Year!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails have been cleared and rolled thanks to all the volunteers that helped with this huge accomplishment! Hopefully the temperatures tomorrow morning will allow for grooming and we can provide some exceptional trails for the holiday weekend. We did make a few machine tracks on some sections of trail today as the snow softened but hopefully we can groom it smooth in the morning.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
JT and I groomed and tracked 4-6" of snow today on 15k of trail. Maple, Oak, Balsam, Spruce, Aspen, Loop, River and the Entry's and Returns. Expect a few sticks and some soft spots. I also skated all those trails this evening and was happy to see the base setting up well. The track was fast and deep too.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
After an equipment breakdown yesterday we were able to roll, groom, and track Maple, Oak, River, Balsam, North Loop, and the Returns today. Expect additional snow on the trail since it was still snowing when the grooming was finished. Expect some sticks and low hanging branches. Enjoy what has been completed. There is a lot of trail that hasn't been touched since the heavy snows last week.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
We arrived at 1:00pm. No grooming had been done as yet. The previously groomed short classic trail loop from the warming cabin was just visible under recent snow, and the skiing on it was quite good. By the time we left at 2:00pm the groomers were just getting started.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Most loops are groomed with tracks set; except for parts of Oak and Sally's Classic. I was classic skiing in well-set tracks, with good base for pole plants. The freestyle skiers found a softer base -- but still very skiable freestyle conditions. Groomer snowmobile has driven trail edges to firm them up for better pole plants.
