I was going to go to work today, but then I saw the trail update which reminded me work stinks and the Birkie trail is great. I really appreciate it and I know other do too. Started at the Cable trailhead went almost to Bodeck and back all on the skate trail of course. Brand new cord this morning. Totally flat deck, no ruts. Little debris. It was starting a daily sunbathe in the 11 am hour. Speaking of the 11th hour, we know we're at that with this ski season, but might have one more great spring early morning window tomorrow?

Staff reports they plan to groom from the Birkie Trailhead (start) down to Hwy OO tonight. Still three feet of snow in the woods.

Kudos to the Birkie Grumrkru! Skied from the Trailhead to the end of the power line and back thru Telehenge. Classic tracks were sublime in the shade and a bit schluppy or glazed in the sun. Skate deck looked great and I used it on some of the fast downhills. Bright sun great tracks no April Fool's joke here. The Cable area got about an inch of snow on Sunday morning so expect slower conditions. Lots of snow on the trail, skiing in May?

Nearly the entire Birkie trail was groomed this morning -- if you want some epic April skiing, you should try to hit it Sunday morning!

Skate skied from Mosquito Brook past Gravel Pit and back. Mother Nature provided a nice 2" snowfall overnight to fill in the recent ski ruts and even out the skate deck, new snow was granulated but fast, provided good edge. I was first to ski on it. Not groomed but very fun and fast.

Skied south of OO about 2/3 to Gravel Pit and back. Great spring skiing! Fast in the tracks. Minimal debris. Skin skis were great in very variable conditions. Firmed up very quickly after 6PM.

Incredible skiing on the Birkie trail Friday and Saturday! Thanks to the groomers for giving us a clean, firm, and fabulous skate deck. As good or better than all year on the entire trail.

Skated Mosquito Brook to Becker Law Link (just past Hatchery). Mint conditions, fresh white corduroy! Maybe best skiing of year! Thanks Birkie groomers.

Skied the trails at OO, skated around east and west loops, and strided the easy strider trail by the lodge (on that the A loop wasn't groomed). Trails were solid and fast.
