I did one pass of the skate deck on the silver trail but I would advise caution if try and ski it due to icy conditions on the downhills. The trail from the waterfall to the blue turnoff is shear ice. Best conditions are on the purple, green, brown and the two way segment of the blue and return segment to green.

Broke up the icy conditions in the skate deck. It is reasonably soft. Could not reset the tracks. They are well-formed but glazed in the bottom. There are icy patches here and there, but the coverage is good.

Pretty icy everwhere both in the classic tracks and on the skate deck. It looks like the excessive moisture underneath soaked up thru the new snow in many places. There are some sections where there is soft snow, but they are few and far between. Klister did kick in the glazed over tracks. Coverage is still complete.

Firsthand: Classic [

The classic tracks had fallen apart by this afternoon. The slush must have eventually soaked through to the snowy top layer and turned that into slush too. However, I was on classic skis but ended up skating pretty much the whole loop with relative ease. Probably the easiest time I've ever had skate skiing on classic skis. I'm assuming that would probably translate well to actual skate skis. There were some puddles and slushy spots, but the skate deck was in much better condition.

The new snow bound to the slush underneath and groomed very well. All trails have a re-groomed skate deck amd new tracks. In some places, the new tracks are a little shallow. There are a very few low spots where the saturated snow has turned to ice, but there is very little ice on most parts of the trail system.

Received 2" of snow last night although it rained hard beforehand. Therefore there is slush under the new snow. Tried to groom this morning but the groomer just went down into the slush underneath so nothing could be groomed. Afraid that skis will do the same so although there is good coverage, skiing may be tricky in many spots. Grooming plans: It is going to get cold tonight and tomorrow, so we may get more solid conditions and try again to groom.

All of Willow's trails were groomed and tracked this morning. Conditions were becoming soft with the warming temperatures. Classic tracks were holding up better than the skate deck. Trails are fully covered but the base is thin and dirt spots are likely to appear with warmer weather.

Excellent freestyle skate deck today. Bonus which included a fresh dusting. Hat tip to all the groomers.
