Trail Detail
Notes
Trails range from easy, such as the Purple Trail running along the Willow River, to the challenging Brown and Silver trails. Trails are groomed for both classical and skate skiing. All grooming is done by volunteer groomers who pride themselves in providing the best possible conditions.Trail Reports

Skied Red, Blue and Green. Wow..like mid winter conditions. Real untransformed snow...a gift. Trails were a bit soft due to new snow, and snow after grooming yesterday but so much fun. No ice. Everytime I ski I am extremely grateful to the all volunteer grooming crew..working late into the season. Get out there! BTW the classic track looked very nice.

Trails had been groomed earlier and another inch of fresh snow had fallen earlier in the day, so skate deck wasn't ideal. Classic tracks were excellent though if a bit sticky in places with the temperature at 32F. Skied Purple trail and the loop across the river. Nice to still get out.

Varied conditions, it's March. As promised the groomers got the silver trail (Nelson Farm) done and it was really nice. Somewhat soft and slow due to the new snow, but very consistent and easy to ski which is not always the case in the hills. Multi-use trails that I was on were hard pack, ice and no amount of grooming will help that. The lower trails on the south side of the river (green, purple) were spotty with icy sections. Yellow and Red were in good shape but had some sections with snow chunks in the middle of the trail from the last grooming attempt. Brown appeared to have been groomed but the "rollercoaster" section back down to the bottom was very hard, very fast, icy with some ruts from the snowmobile and skis. No significant debris on any of the trails. Thanks to the groomers for keeping the trails in such good shape, nice to be skiing in mid-March.

All trails except Silver were groomed this morning for skate and classic. The new snow became too wet to continue grooming. Grooming plans: Silver may be groomed tonight or tomorrow morning.

Skated most of the trails on the south side of the river. Trails were icy after yesterday's warmth. Some ski rutting from yesterday and the classic tracks were very icy.

All the trails were groomed for skate and classic today. Snow was getting soft by the time I finished but the tracks were mostly fully formed and the skate deck is in good shape. 100% coverage with some scattered icy/slushy spots mostly under the pine areas. Grooming plans: Next grooming will most likely be after the next snow event.

Skied the purple late afternoon. So very nice. Temps were around 35-37 degrees. Skating looked excellent. Very little debris still. Saw hikers walking right on the tracks, I kindly directed them to the hiking trails. I really hope we can keep these trails going. Thank you groomers!
