Varied from excellent to good throughout. Roughly 70% of the trails had been groomed in the early morning and were in great shape. The rest were a bit glazed but still skiable. Much better than expected after the 43F day on Wednesday.

Wow, great conditions today at Winter Park. They groomed up large sections of the frozen skate deck, from the recent warmup, into some really fast and wonderful conditions. Both Wolf Tracks and River Run were in great shape. A blast!

Minocqua has an abundance of snow cover. The trails were freshly/beautifully groomed and we were able to skate ski on fresh cuordoroy which is such a treat. Minocqua received about 1-2" of snow on Monday night which really helped freshen up the trail system. Near perfect skate skiing. Fast with great edge control. We started skiing in mid morning due to warm temperatures and intense sunny skies. Timing is everything this time of year when warmer afternoon temperatures can really slow things down. Many classical skiers enjoying the beautiful conditions.

Wonderful conditions today at Winter Park, pretty much perfect! Skied out to Wolf Tracks and back. A little new snow in the classic track but skate deck was still fast.

We had a great weekend to host our Wolf Tracks Rendezvous ski race! Groomers now have the whole park re-groomed since the race and trails are in excellent shape! Great edge control and full depth classic tracks. The snow is fast and fun right now especially with the warmer temperatures!

Made the trip to Minocqua for the Wolf Track Rendezvous. The trails were amazing. One of my favorite races in the midwest.

The grooming report posted in the chalet indicated that most trails had been groomed today including Lake Marie which is one of my favorites. I skate skied Base Loop to Tornado Alley to Survivor to Yukon to C&D and on to Lake Marie. What I found was trails that may have all been groomed today but received 2-3 inches of fresh snow after grooming. Therefore, I was skating through 2-3 inches of fresh snow on top of a firm deck which made for slow going. It appeared to me that classic skiing may have been the better choice for today.

Epic conditions and expert grooming. Conditions could not be better ever (and I've told you a million times I don't exaggerate)! Do yourself a favor; call in sick to work....tell them you are too well to attend. Get to Minocqua before the weekend and the temps plummet. This is a special place.

First time skiing Winter Park and I witnessed perfection! Trails were groomed exceptionally, temps were ideal, no wind which left the trees full of frosting from mid-week. Skated nearly all segments the past two days and saw conditions similar to the photos. Such a special place, make the trip if you are able!

Mighty nice little tootle around Lake Marie. Classic tracks, firm. Skate deck, stiff corduroy. Beauty, A+. Lots of snow laden trees as the gliding was swift and easy. Took Island Hop on the way back home and swamp did not disappoint. Rime frosted spruce and tamarack and the largest view in the park seemed mystical and ephemeral with gray sky and fog adding to the atmosphere. Fast tracks made double poling a breeze.
