Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails haven't been groomed since the last light snowfall, but the tracks were in good condition. We got out and skied early before the temp rose above freezing. Hoping the trails withstand the thaw. Skied Doug's Folly. Grooming is excellent as always. We love it that the steep downhills aren't tracked. Took my sister from NH who hasn't skied in almost 30 years. She was in heaven. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you to the groomers!

Firsthand: Classic

Classic skied Lions Pride, Hairaiser, and Wild Thing. Full depth, solid track with some debris that didn't impact glide. Still a thin layer of snow on the downhills for good control.

Good condition, great glide in the tracks. Some leaves in the tracks but not too many.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skate lanes were a little uneven from grooming with footprints from people and dogs, especially near the chalet. A 3/5 rating. Classic was very nice, I'd give it 4/5.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Robert groomed all skate loops yesterday and they looked to be in great shape this morning. I just finished grooming and tracking all classic loops. Almost all of it turned out very good to excellent. For the last 2k in on the shared trail with skate skiers there are a few places where the track is shallow. There was considerable oak leaf and pine needle/cones debris when I went out, but most all of it groomed out.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Touched up all of the skate loops this afternoon, grooming in the fresh and drifted snow from yesterday. Other than a fair amount of tree debris from yesterday's winds, trails are in great shape. Grooming plans: Will will be grooming and setting track on the classic trails in the morning.

Skied Oak Ridge, Hair Raiser and Short Cut this afternoon on the classic side. Tracks were hard and very fast. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of oak leaves and other litter in places. Otherwise it was a good ski with a trail rating of mostly good and some fair. The blower motor for the heater in our groomer went out last week. They don't make the part anymore but we were able to find a dealer in Illinois with one and it should get here in time to install and be ready for grooming this weekend. Groomed with a Buddy heater on the front seat last week. Grooming plan is to regroom Friday night and Saturday morning. Should be able to get things in good shape for the weekend.

I usually skate ski Long Rider. However, today I decided to check out the classic trails. Grooming had just been completed and I was probably the second skier on Lion's Pride. I found the tracks to be shallow and somewhat erratic. Overall conditions on my first pass I would rate as good. I went back out to ski the Oak Ridge loop. The classic tracks had firmed up nicely second time around up to Doug's Folley. I continued on to Oak Ridge and Wild Thing which had lesser use and therefore had not set up as well. Overall conditions on my second pass I would rate as very good. The colder temperatures today didn't pose any problems and it was a great day of classic skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All loops at Razorback are fully groomed. Skate trails were groomed last night and are much firmer than yesterday. Groomed and tracked classic trails this morning. They might be a touch soft here and there, but for the most part are very good to excellent.

As Ray Stevens once famously sang, everything is beautiful. Bob Polich groomed all the skate loops today and I followed by grooming and tracking all the classic loops. Honestly, everything is beautiful. I skied Lions Pride, Pine Hollow and Short Cut, and all had beautiful tracks. All should be firm and great for skiing for those willing to dress for the deep freeze.
