Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Yesterday and early today Robert and I completed four passes on all skate and classic loops. Mostly excellent with a few places still just a little soft after 12 inches of snowfall. I just finished skiing 18k on the classic loops and they are in very good condition. Mostly firm tracks with a couple of lesser used loops still a bit soft. Overall, some of the best ski conditions of the entire winter.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed all the skate trails early this morning and Will is currently grooming and setting track on the classic trails. I skated a short loop after grooming to check condition of the trails and they are extremely soft and slow. There are some center ridges in spots from making multiple passes as well as some shallow gator ruts - more cosmetic than having any impact on skiing.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Getting an impressive amount of snow today - 10+ inches so far and continuing to fall. All skate loops were packed this afternoon and Will was heading out as I finished up to do the same on the classic trails. Grooming plans: I'll be out early tomorrow morning to groom the skate loops and then Will will take over to groom and track the classic trails.

Morning
Observation Scheduling
[ Trails: Closed ]
I just went over and checked the trails at the start. Because of the freezing rain we will not be doing any grooming until we get new snow. Though we don't have anyone at the warming building to prevent skiers from going out, I would strongly urge everyone to stay off until weather conditions improve enough for us to go out and regroom. Skiing on ice is not worth a broken leg.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! We've been at Razorback every other day this week including today, and conditions are excellent. A bit slick and icy if you're not experienced, but boy what a treat for the intermediate skill. Thanks much, groomers!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After grooming and tracking yesterday, Razorback Ridges is in excellent shape. I skied Doug's Folly and Lions Pride this afternoon. Tracks I set yesterday were firm and considering all the new snow we've had to work with they were fast but easily controllable on the steeper downhills with sharp curves. Ran into friends on the way in where classic and skate loops come together. They said skate loops were in excellent condition as well.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed and tracked all classic loops this morning. I would consider them excellent for the most part with well set tracks and firm deck. Robert Polic groomed all skate trails yesterday, and from what I saw of them they are also in excellent condition.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Received a few inches of slushy snow yesterday and a few inches of drier snow today. I got out this afternoon and groomed all the skate loops and they're back in great shape - clean, flat and firm. Grooming plans: Will will be grooming and setting track on the classic trails in the morning.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I arrived around 2:00 pm to moderate snow falling. There was just a dusting on the skate deck at that time. I skied Long Rider along with Bruce's Roundabout. The further out and closer I got to Bruce's Roundabout the more uneven the skate deck became. The return from the Bruce's Roundabout cut-off was more level. Speed was fair with the the new fallen snow that was now piling up on the skate deck. By the time I skied Will's Crossing, there was a good two inches of new snow on the skate deck and my initial tracks on Long Rider out to Will's Crossing were no longer visible underneath the fresh snow. Razorback Ridges is my favorite place to come for a good workout. Long Rider never disappoints me in that regard.
