The UWGB Nordic Ski Team was out in full force this morning as the Piston Bully was grooming in the about 1" of snow that had fallen overnight. Though conditions were slower than normal, skiing was enjoyable for both techniques. If you want a workout, you can count on The ANC. Carpe Skiem!

Approximately 1/2 inch of newly fallen natural snow on top of a 3.5 km very well groomed skate deck. Snow is clean. Diagonal tracks were present and substantial. The newly fallen snow decreases the glide. Still worthwhile visit.

Frigid conditions this morning at The ANC. 5 degree and super windy, at least it was sunny! Classic would have been the better choice. The 3.5K groomed loop sits atop a rock solid 2' to 5' base. This base offers solid pole plants, level skiing and is cold enough to last, insuring that if you make the wise decision to check it out, you won't be disappointed. Carpe Skiem!

Approximately 3.5 km of well groomed trail, which includes some newly opened northern section. The skate deck is clean, well compacted, wide, and level. Adjacent diagonal tracks were also substantial. Very good conditions today.

Mother nature dropped about 1/3" of snow on top of a freshly groomed 3.4K trail early this morning making for excellent ski conditions. The latest loop, aka Mount Becker, is a sight to behold offering significant additional elevation and banked curves on the down hill for skaters. Super fun. Carpe Skiem!

If you haven't skied Ariens then you are missing out. As close to perfect as you can get. Around 4k of trails. Snow anywhere from 1 to 10 meters deep! Sean Becker had done a fabulous job in this (once again) snowless winter. He added height to some hills with man made snow. Biathlon range is perfect and ready for an event this Sunday. Fun, fun course! Worth the trip!

They are up to 3.5k now with some of the North loops partially open. Basically, one more longer climb with a bit of headwall at the top from a part of the trail we haven't seen open since the opening year with natural snow. The snow in the morning was cold, slow and squeaky. The whole system just skis with a nice flow of climbs, descents, turns, an occasional flat area. Really enjoyable.
