Terrific skiing for skaters and striders today at The ANC! Skaters were rewarded with firm and fast. While those in the well formed tracks zipped along nicely except for the 100 meters or so where the wash from the snow guns made it feel like winter once again! Heavy snow-making taking place. The 25 degree temp, the brilliant sun and a good breeze all added to the fun. Carpe Skiem!

Approximately 2.5 km of ski trail is open. The skate deck was clean, freshly groomed, well compacted and fast. The adjacent diagonal tracks were substantial and also fast. The only slow part was the scatter from the snow guns near the southeast corner of the stadium. Very good conditions today.

Skaters and striders alike needed Rudolph with his nose so bright to navigate the loops at The ANC this morning. Foggy, misty and 34 degrees. Skating was the better choice this morning given the hills proved tough to grip with my skin skis. Carpe Skiem!

No better way to wear off some Eggnog than doing a few pre-Christmas loops at The ANC! Excellent mid-Winter conditions across the 2.5K loop, a loop that contains several interior loops for added variety. On behalf of my Nordic Ski community a special Merry Christmas to The Arien's Company, Sean & Heather, and the entire ANC crew for giving us the gift of skiing. Carpe Skiem!

Trails are in incredible shape. Deep man made snow with track set well. Skating deck was firm and flat with good bite. Pretty much perfect. Sean has been working around the clock to make snow for reserves to make it through warm weather and for upcoming events. If you haven't skied Ariens you really should. Trails are fast and safe with good climbs and descents, a well designed course. And of course a remarkable biathlon venue!

The trail is now 2.5 km with distance added on the south end and part of Mammoth. Skating surface is wide, level, well compacted and clean. Adjacent diagonal tracks were slightly slower due to some recent snowfall. The diagonal tracks were still robust. Worth the drive.

Terrific conditions this morning. Kicked the 2.5K loop in single digit temps under a blue sky and light winds. Lots of happy skiers. Heavy snowmaking taking place on the southern end of the network. Worth the drive (from anywhere). Carpe Skiem!

Rare areas of pebbles, especially near start line. The uphills are starting to deteriorate, but only slightly. All things considered, the trail is in very good shape with recent grooming. Trail is approximately 1.8 km. Adjacent tracks were good or very good.

Enjoyed an early ski this morning under a mostly cloudy sky in 29 degrees. There was 3/4 depth tracks and well groomed skate deck across the 1.7K network (which rests atop a solid base that averages 24"). Carpe Skiem!
