We launched from the ANC trailhead at 7:45 this morning in 16 degrees with a stiff wind out of the north. We were greeted with a 1.1K loop that includes three climbs of varying difficulty. Perfect conditions: Full depth tracks, uniform corduroy. Lots of snow making going on with 7 guns a blazing on the south end of the property and 1 on the north. We're lucky to have this place! Carpe Skiem.

Skate Trail was 1.2 km with excellent base, wide and level. Fresh grooming. Adjacent classic tracks were well formed and fast.

Opening Day at The ANC! Skaters and striders had a 400 meter loop to enjoy as they searched for their skinny ski legs and refined their skills. Though short, the track was typical Ariens perfect: flat, firm and well tracked. The guns have been working OT as there is plenty of snow piled up awaiting grooming. It's great to be back, Carpe Skiem!
