We skied the blue multiuse trail today in Superior. The skate deck was fresh cord, the classic track was in good shape with just a couple of skied out turns. There was quite a bit of debris on the trail despite the fresh cord and we kept looking up to see if there were porcupines but did not see any. Nothing stopped the skate skis nor the skins though.

I skated the yellow and outer purple trails today. It was cold, but if you dressed correctly in layers, it wasn't bad. The trails were groomed perfectly yesterday, and nobody had been on them, so it was a pleasure to be the first one to ski. Of course, the snow was a bit slow, because of the cold temperatures, but skiing was still great on this sunny day.

I skate skied the red, green, purple and blue trails today. The conditions were absolutely perfect! It was fast and silky smooth on the new corduroy. The skate deck was completely groomed today and most of the trails were tracked, as well. The trail lights are also up and running.

Superior's green and red were in excellent shape today! Those groomers are so amazing, thank you! The classic tracks were fast and new as well as the skate deck. Firm pole plants, solid deeper tracks, no debris. There continue to be a few areas that are brown, indicating ice and some open water on the side of the trail but all are easy to avoid.

Yellow trail at the Superior Municipal forest was great for skate and classic today! Deep firm classic tracks and solid newly groomed skate deck. Busy place... we saw quite a few people on the trail. We also had a neon green snowmobiler who was going extremely fast on the small multiuse section -- was not very safe for our group. This is abnormal for this area, the snowmobilers typically slow down and wave.

Skied the yellow and purple loops. Snow was buttery and fast. Everything was groomed. Tracks were mostly good but some soft/thin spots in track were present. Overall, good conditions!

When I drove by the main starting point for the trail system off of 28th Street, I noticed the lights were on. This was on Friday! Yay!

Skate skied Superior late this afternoon. All trails were groomed and tracked. Skiing was excellent! Fast and silky smooth skating conditions! Great job, groomers! The forest was absolutely gorgeous with snow sticking to and blanketing every tree and bush. It was a great day to be outside.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Due to the weather, grooming has been halted on all ski trails. With the rain that we received, trails are soft and very wet. While they are not closed, conditions are not favorable. Grooming will resume as soon as the weather permits.

We skied the red and green classic in Superior today and were expecting ice but it was not at all icy. It looked like the groomer took one short loop on the skate deck and that was it. The temps must have stayed close to freezing and not dropped much based on the snow texture. The tracks were a bit sinky at times, no ice at all -- no apparent damage to the trail. If someone went out and skated, they could do some damage to the skate lane with ruts. When we skied, the skate deck was in great shape, even, no ruts at all. The classic tracks were also in good shape. There was evidence of lots of wildlife enjoying the trails based on the multiple tracks and droppings. I also ran into at least 6 turkeys having a party in the skate lane on the hilly green.
