We skied the yellow trail today around midday and it was in excellent shape. The classic tracks were deep and firm, best yet this year. Skate deck in super shape despite someone taking a walk on it - skate lane is so wide it did not affect it and they stayed to the side. There are some deer parts on the side, something did a good job of eating it, if you are squeamish just look the other way! It was 37F when we skied.

I know its been said many times, but gosh, you have to give major kudos to the SMF grooming crew. I was out there about 8 AM and everything, but the yellow, was freshly groomed to perfection. Thanks so much for your early morning groomers so we can all enjoy the fruits of your labor. The yellow was rocket fast and groomed maybe a day or two ago and also spectacular. Scant tree litter on parts of the Purple connector and Yellow but nothing that would damage skis, and nowhere near to the degree we saw earlier this season. Please get out there and support this jewel of a trail system.

I classic skied Superior's yellow and purple trails and part of the green trail this afternoon. All of the trails were freshly groomed and tracked today! The skiing was top-notch! What a pleasure it was to enjoy the wilderness on such a beautiful day.

Classic skied the purple in Superior today for the first time this year. It appears they have widened the skate deck...or maybe I'm just remembering it incorrectly? Big snow globe flakes falling as we skied. There was an inch or two of fluff in the tracks and on the skate deck and as I was coming up a hill two groomers were coming down refreshing the skate deck so I jumped on that instead as it was much faster. Pole plants were solid, 99.99999 % debris free which is abnormal for this trail, so it was nice. Snow was clumpy even on my skins when I was coming back on the "road" from the yellow/purple. It's such a treat to have fresh grooming as you go!

Every trail in the system was groomed and tracked today and the conditions were perfect! Both the skate deck and classic tracks were smooth and fast. Good job, groomers!

Classic skied the outer green trail today. New classic tracks set on the opposite side of where they usually are. New tracks are soft. Sloppy and uneven depth in some areas. Hopefully the classic tracks will be groomed again soon.

Very good to excellent for skate and classic. 8+" of snow fell here this Tuesday and Wednesday and grooming continued daily. All trails are firm, wide and classic tracked with the exception of the hilly (east) side of the yellow trail, which is a bit narrow, soft, and lacks a classic track (though I highly recommend skiing this section of trail, as it is particularly scenic, especially the bypass of the first hill and the dead-end spur to Cedar Point). One of the groomers said he'd be back Sunday.

Skied early this morning via headlamp. The snow was hard and fast. The skate track was chewed up on Red, was good on Blue, and flawless on Green. The Red loop does have a lot of debris on it. The trails are great right now, and I'm hoping for more snow to make the Muni trails last into the spring! When I got ready to leave the trails this morning, the City grooming crew was getting ready to work their magic. They are also hoping to get out to the Yellow loop and get that cleaned up, too!

Silky smooth fast skate deck today. Fresh grooming yesterday with a 1/2" of new snow on top. There is still quite a bit of tree litter in parts of the purple connector but nothing that would damage skis and its now partly covered with the new snow. The only trail I did not ski was blue. The yellow was a little softer and slightly uneven in spots, as it has not seen as much grooming thus far, but really nice too. Hopefully, they will continue to tune up this trail as it is easily the best trail in the system. As always, thanks to the grooming crew and City of Superior for their great trail maintenance.

Superior red and green were quite the popular place today! They had not been regroomed when we were there midday, but we saw one swipe on the red when we were heading back in. Classic tracks were in good shape except for a few misshapen areas and they were about 96% debris free. The skate deck was well used, but still in good shape. We did run into a group that had some inexperienced skiers and good skiers going the incorrect way on some steep up and downhills, one was walking down the middle of the hill making prints too.
Just a reminder to attempt to go the correct direction on the trails (watch where the herringbones are on the uphill) and if you are unable to or looking for someone, please stay to the side...so everyone stays safe...If you need to walk down a hill please remember to do that on the far edge.
