Leave your B skis at home to best enjoy these January-like 30-plus k. Trails soft and wet in places, but should be firming and drying up day by day. Snowing again.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
What an exciting day of grooming! We spent most of the day grooming for our opener tomorrow. I just came in with the Pisten Bully and the trails are looking good. They are freezing down well. Grooming plans: We have a crew to finish the grooming in the early morning hours. We plan to have River, Popple flats, Popple Climb, Memory, part of blueberry, meadow, cherry groomed for skating and classic tracks. We plan to have the hemlock, jack pine, white pine, Deer trail and Jack's flats tracked and the front part of tamarack.... maybe more. That is about 30 km. There are a few slushy spots that should freeze tonight, but the trail is well covered and I am expecting good early season conditions.

We have been clearing the trails and packing the trails for the last four weeks since our first snow dump of 14 inches of snow. All 100 k of trails are cleared and we have been packing and grooming 40-50 k. I went out tonight two hours after the snow started. It was snowing 2 inches /per hour and I came home. Groom crew is heading out early morning. We are planning to open 30-50 k of trails. We will update opening status on lunch break Friday.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
Just coming in from packing about 40 km of trails on old ABR with Wide track. We did receive 12 inches of snow. The trails have a wet spot here and there but after packing it should freeze up. I will keep updates daily. I am predicting a 50% chance of early season skiing this Saturday.

Winter is arriving.... We received about 6 inches yesterday and another 3-4 last night. I was packing the trails last night and they are looking good. Grooming plans: Wide track and I will be back out today packing some more. It is possible we could open next weekend. The forecast temps and snow are very positive.
