Reports 11 to 19 of 19    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Coverage was fairly good given the lack of snow this season. There were less bare spots to worry about and the groomers had widened a good portion of the trails. The skate deck was firm and very fast. Deep Woods was actually in very good shape as some kind soul had gone through and removed sticks/branches and the snow coverage was good in there.

I groomed the skating lane on most of the trails. Just not enough snow to retrack the classic track. The wind brought down more leaves and some of the classic track as leaves in them. Snow is thin on some of south exposure trails. I didn't do anything with Deepwoods because of the leaves. Have fun!

All trails have classic tracks and a skating lanes. Snow is thin on the east side trail system where a school race was held on Tuesday. Think snow and enjoy.

Fairly good coverage with just a few thin spots to watch for. The skate deck was hard and fast, especially the sections used by the high school racers this past Tuesday. Deep Woods and Finland were slightly softer, but still fast.

Everything has a skating lane and a set of classic tracks. Skating lanes look great some of the classic tracks are shallow but it worked fairly good. Have fun out there!

There was a 1 to 2 inch layer of fluffy new snow on top of the icy base. There is fairly good coverage, but watch out for the few existing bare spots that go down to dirt. The groomer was heading out as I was leaving at around 4:15 pm.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The trails all have fairly good coverage for early in the year and first snowfall. There are some thin spots in the usual locations and I picked up all the sticks/branches that I could see. Be careful on the first small hill coming from the parking lot and going past the new campground. There are loose rocks and/or gravel under the thin snow.

Thanks to the groomers at Andes for rolling and getting the trails in very skiable shape. There are some areas with sticks and leaves but nothing to hamper a good ski. Snow was soft after a few rounds.

All trails are groomed with skating lanes. No classic tracks yet. All trails have very good snow coverage with the exception of Finland. Expect leaf and small branches on trail. Enjoy.
