Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Arrived around 10 am and finished around 1 pm. Conditions were terrific as the groomer was out in the morning. Conditions were turning at the end because of the warming temps. Always great to make the trek here to ski these trails. Thanks to the grooming crew, they are really doing what they can and keeping the trails in great shape for Birkie training. I skated but a guy flew by me on the classic tracks and the tracks were obviously in great shape as well. Best advice is to ski in the morning and try to preserve the snow best we can until it cools down.

Clipped in at 9:30 am literally just as the groomer made it back from a full skate deck pass. Skate Skied the entire system. It was scratched up real well and never really concerned about lack of edge control. Firm and fast. No ruts at all!! Around 11am the hills facing the sun was juuuust starting to have snow change over, even then I was on blue wax and it didn't really slow down the glide. The parking lot was full when I got there so should get good action today. A few glazed spots in the deck but again to my surprise didn't affect edge control. That said, 98% was not glazed, only a glide stroke here or there.

Skate lane groomed this morning. Tracks held up well thru the warm weather but will most likely be a bit icy until it warms up a bit.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The trail was groomed after a fresh coating of snow the night before. Skis went fast in the shadier places, soft in the sunnier, as to be expected. I picked up a few wind downed sticks but otherwise, very little debris. I had the trail all to myself.

The skate deck was recently groomed and was in great shape. Classic tracks looked good. Weather was 30 degrees and it was a great ski on a real nice trail system.

Afternoon ski in the sun was nice. First use of non-cold wax in a while and it worked great. Skied Tram and North loop. Skate deck seemed a bit faster than last weekend but still easy to keep control. Firm deck. Surprisingly not as much debris as last week(end). Basically it's been a great grooming year IMO. Classic tracks look nice and deep, reset recently maybe.

Ski Trail - Skate lane was groomed tonight. Tracks looked good. Fatbike Trail - The guys checked a couple areas and it looks like very little if any drifting. Looks like a great weekend to get outdoors and enjoy some trails.

Night
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skate skied the North Loop plus Highland Lowland and Dog Island connector. Hard and fast but still able to keep control. Ideal conditions. Some traffic on the skate deck on the north loop, but had minimal traffic on High/Lo trail. Some areas had a bit of debris likely from the wind but very avoidable. A few places had a ton of deer tracks, and I scared a few deer also. Grooming is great for them too.
