Skied the Onion River Road trail from the parking lot and then back along the Onion River. Freshly groomed this morning and very good conditions.

Skied from Britton Peak: over to Homestead and then back to Hogback. The freshly groomed trails from the night/day before had a dusting of new snow on top of them--and the warmer temps made for varied conditions. Alternating between grippy (in the sun--climbing from I to H, I was accumulating in the kick zone, although a group of four had just flown down the hill enjoying the speed and challenge) and really slippery/glid-y (where people had packed down the fresh powder). The heavy overnight winds had mild drifting into the classic track in a few places--in most of them, one could remain in the classic tracks (although the top of Hogback required a bit of navigating around a drift). The big exception (emphasis on big) was the top of Homestead (the point that looks back to Lake Superior). There, the drifts went across both the classic tracks and skate lane and may have been knee high in a few places. The fact that conditions were so good after a 30+ degree change in temperature with new snow and really strong gusts overnight is evidence of the high-quality grooming.

Once again Sugarbush was freshly groomed and in pristine condition. Skied from Oberg around Picnic and Hogback. In spite of all the snow of the last few days, the decks were firm, the tracks solid and there were no pole plant punch throughs. Great conditions!

Skied Picnic and Homestead from Oberg trailhead. A light dusting of snow made the grip and kick even better in the tracks. Grooming continues to hold up and remains excellent. The only issue is skiing the fast downhill thru the Moose tracks on the way down from the highpoint. It was a little bumpy. No real problem if you know it is coming. Be back after the next snowfall!

First time out on Sugarbush. Massive amounts of snow base and beautiful trails set everywhere. It was Cold (0F) and the snow was very slow from the deep cold overnight (-20). We worked hard to move skating, classic would've been faster. The tracks were wicked fast. Everything seemed to loosen up and speed up as the sun came up. Only issue was part way around on the Black part of the Picnic Loop, some moose decided to try skiing themselves and pounded holes into the skate deck. Easy to ski around but could be treacherous if you caught a tip in a hole. Still was snow all the way down.
