Wonderful conditions at Sugarbush. Skied from Briton Peak trailhead around Hogback and Homestead and then a few times around the Bridge Loop on the way back. In spite of all the new snow, the deck and the tracks were firm. Glide in the track was good considering below zero temps and skaters were passing me so that glide looked good too. Firm pole plants on both sides. All so much better than I expected and will be back tomorrow for the Picnic loop.

Started from Oberg parking lot and went north then east on the Oberg loop. Lots of fresh snow and was ungroomed as of Friday afternoon. Trudged through it with four people switching who was in front. Beautiful forests and views. It was hard to hear the snowmobiles crossing with how loud the wind was.

Wonderful conditions holding up through the morning. Middle skating lane was packed multiple times and running faster than classic for me. Thank you groomer and volunteers for these great trails.

Skied the whole picnic loop and a couple connecting loops. Freshly groomed with just a dusting on top after what looks like roughly 8" of fresh snow. Beautiful day and excellent conditions. The skate deck was a little soft in places due to the volume of new snow, but should firm up with time. Classic track had also been set everywhere. A good time for a trip up the shore!

The classic tracks were dreamy this morning at 8 AM. I skied about 10 km of classic, including the Homestead Loop. I saw one or two spots where there was a little dirt or pine needles, but the tracks and skating decks were some of the nicest I've skied on this winter. The weather was warm (33F). This was my first time skiing these trails, and it won't be the last. Parked at the Britton Mountain trailhead.

We skied Moose Fence this afternoon and it was beautiful skiing. Classic tracks must have been groomed a day or more ago, since there had been some snow, but conditions were very good. Skiing was a bit slow, but little in the way of debris or worn trails. A great winter ski!

It was -1° when I started skiing at Moose Fence Trailhead but I was quite comfortable because there was no wind. The trail was freshly groomed with about 3/4" of fresh fluff that came down as I was driving there. No skiers ahead of me but I had good kick and glide. There had been several classic and skate skiers when I got to Picnic Loop intersection and on Upland Loop. Good firm and deep classic track on Maple Loop, Connector to Picnic and on Upland Loop. Skate deck was firm under new fluff.

Skied Picnic Loop from Onion River trailhead, including Homestead Loop. Ski deck is firm on nearly 2' of snow in the woods. Trails slow due to being covered by blanket of recent snow. Found myself the first to ski in the classic track for much of the Picnic Loop. Blown and drifted snow covered the tracks in higher areas. There is occasional tree debris (e.g. spruce needles and branches) between K & L, characteristic of this stretch. Nevertheless, beautiful skiing in a gorgeous woods. Gotta love those old white pines, cedars and of course maples!

Skated Oberg Loop, the connector from W to J, Homestead Loop, and return to Oberg trail head. Skate deck was firm, hard packed old corduroy (around 1/3 of total trail distance) covered by up to 1 inch light snow (about 2/3) with some deeper drifts in spots. Minimal debris on the trail. Classic tracks were in pretty good shape. Connector from L to K had been recently rolled but not set up yet. Cold temps made fresh snow squeaky and somewhat slow but overall a nice day to be out.

There was about a half-inch of new, dry snow that fell on the trail last night. Encountered drifting over the trail on the picnic loop in a few places, a couple of spots were getting pretty deep. Besides the drifting, the trails were in great shape.
