[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Absolute amazing ski at Sugarbush. Skied the picnic loop. Fairly solid, clean tracks all around. Couple spots of weeds and dirt but if you want to use good skis they are super avoidable. Obvious that the snow at higher elevations is deeper. Very few lumps and it feels closer to mid winter conditions than early ones. We didn’t skate but when we got out of the tracks the skate deck was firmer than expected and the lone set of skate tracks looked like they weren’t sinking in too much at all.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Groomer had just finished rolling the west end out of Briton Peak around 1:30 pm and was going out to track. I left and went to the east Onion River trailhead. Onion River Road had been groomed and tracked up 2k and the rest was just rolled. I skied to the end of Onion River, but it was slow going in the rolled loose snow. Hopefully more grooming will be done tonight. Great to be on natural snow for the first time and plenty of it.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
A few inches of fresh snow fell this morning while I was out. Started on Onion River Road to end, which was still too soft and not great skiing. I also skied ORR Parking lot to X and the Connector trail which were much more firm and better skiing.

Skied the Hogback Loop today at lunch. Skate deck was firm and skiing was overall good. The green connectors and the lower part of Hogback have a few spots with dirt and gravel poking through and many places with twigs poking through. The upper part of Hogback is in excellent condition! No other trails were groomed yet.

Skate skied Onion River Road today. That was the only trail groomed and open. It’s starting to set up but still soft and not much glide. Great base of snow!
