Very good classic skiing with those using kick wax having a great day. Skins worked well also. A great turnout on a beautiful sunny day. Tomorrow promises to be even better. If you are on your way home from the Birkie plan to stop for a ski. Lodge is open every day with wood stove going.

Yesterday's snow of 12-14" was groomed in this morning Great Classic skiing. Grooming plans: Groomers will be out again early tomorrow morning as we were still getting LES bands coming through this morning. Snowshoe trail is packed and marked. Some great scenery.

Groomer John C was very happy this morning after 3" of fresh LES overnight everything groomed up well. The big flakes velcroed everything together, temps 19F. Light LES flurries continue during the day. Blue kick wax will be good and skate deck is flat and in great shape. VS has a 12-14" base with 24" off trail. Snow shoe trail is open and scenery is great with snow on the trees.

Groomer was out very early Saturday morning after several inches of Lake Effect Snow on Friday. New snow mixed in well. Skating was very good in the morning but slowed as temps rose. Grooming plans: Groomer will be out early again Sunday morning.

2" of wet snow overnight was groomed in and new track set. Classic skiers were doing well despite temps into the 30's. We have a good base so any mild temps will not have much of an impact. A good turnout of midweek skiers from lower Mich and WI. Lodge is open every day with a wood fire. Snowshoe trail along the creek is well packed in.

Trails received 6+" of fresh snow yesterday on top of a good base. Temps finally dropping into the teens overnight so things should firm up. Classic was very good and scenery great with snow still on the trees. Snow shoe trails have been opened up so great scenery along the creek. The weekend conditions will be good.

John C was out grooming entire system. Some light snow overnight mixed in well with older snow underneath. The temps were just below 32F and with a lot of moisture in the snow the glide was a little slower. He was able to put in some new classic tracks so not to bad given the warm up the past few days.

What a difference a day makes. We skated Saturday, the classic tracks were perfect, jumped in them often, the skates lanes had been groomed but it was chunky which made for some thrilling descents. Sunday morning we arrived ready to classic if skate lanes still looked like they did Saturday. They had redone all trails, classic tracks were still great. Skate deck was perfect cords so we skated. It was a bit slower with the warming temps. Very fun skiing in Hiawatha forest. We really love Munising area.

Light snow off and on through the day as temps hovered around freezing. Skins were working well. Temps are dropping into the 20's so groomers can get out in the morning. A very good base so look for great conditions throughout the weekend.
