From the owners: Day 5 of working to open the trails. Dorothy's loop regroomed. The 5K groomed. Grooming plans: We will have the back loop groomed tomorrow! Everything will be open very soon. I'm tired but very happy.

Pure bliss! Groomers have done an amazing job clearing all the downed trees on the trail! Groomed and tracked right up to the 5K cut off. Groomer has warned us of a water pit at the bottom of the sleep hill just before the 4K cutoff. Thank goodness for the warning to walk down the sides. We did our part to clear sticks while Dr. Chip freed many bent over trees and then performed surgery on my wet boot! Left at 1:00 - amazing day!

Nearly 2 feet of wet heavy snow fell on the Korkki Nordic trails this week. Above freezing temperatures, heavy snow and the significant numbers of downed trees made for a difficult task just to get the trail cleared to begin grooming. After 4 days of Herculean effort by Mark Helmer and his volunteer crew, the 5k at Korkki will be open for skiing at 10:30 Sunday. Mark plans on working on the back 5k of trail over the next few days.
