Beautiful ski with plenty of snow, sunshine and natural beauty to go around. First time skiing these trails and I loved the challenge of the big hills, which was made extraordinary by the extra snow that made the steep and curvy downhills very manageable. Nice deep track.

Excellent conditions early this afternoon on this gem of a single-track classic only trail. The groomer was just finishing when Joanie and I arrived and carved a perfect track through the entire system. There is some nice old growth forest here and some big hills on Loop C to enjoy. It was well worth the drive from Madison. Thanks to the groomer for his efforts and reporting conditions on this website.

We picked up snow all week, groomed in another 5 inches of LES, the whole system is in great shape. Classic skiing should be excellent all weekend.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed entire system this morning, should be good classic skiing this weekend out there besides all the Beech leaves and other debris the wind has kicked up and thrown in the tracks.

A skiers delight! Diagonal doesn't get any better. This is the kind of skiing that hooked me in the 70's. Through the hemlocks and rolling hills that wind along ridges around the lakes. Just a dusting of fresh snow since the last grooming. Did all 3 loops. Glorious!

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
Checked out McKeever Hills today. The first indication that the trails were good was the full parking lot. Striders were kicking in well formed, but snowed-in machine made tracks. Lots of snow. Looks like a beauty of a single track meandering thru the woods. Pics are from the trailhead. Carpe Skiem!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It will not disappoint out there, with the additional 5 inches we picked up this last weekend. The entire system was groomed and nice deep track was set on loops A, B and C. Conditions are just about perfect out there. Classic skiing does not get better than this.

Way fun ski with very good classic conditions. Catch these tracks before they are gone. We skied a and b twice.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Just finished up grooming loop A and B, C didn't need it. Overall conditions are about as good as they can get. With some powder out there on loop C, things should be somewhat slower on the big hills. Grooming plans: Grooming operations will continue next week.
