Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I scratched up the skate deck on the man made loop this morning with the ginzu. It turned out decent but there are still a few icy spots. The tracks were left as is and are starting to get thin in spots and looked icy. Things should soften up a little as the sun comes out.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The skate deck of the man made loop was groomed this morning. Conditions look like they will remain pretty good all day today. The tracks were left as is, and are getting a little thin in some spots. The trail through the woods has a few thin spots and is very dirty.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Very soft conditions on the lower loops, with a few spots of standing water, in sunny, 50 degree weather. Generally pretty clean and easily skiable, though slow. Tracks are intact, but soft and icy. That is the good news. The trails in woods are very dirty from tree debris, and are icy in the shade. Magic Carpet is not too bad, but Summerstage Hill, in the shade, is icy, with very poor conditions at the top.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The skate deck of the man-made loop was groomed this morning. Conditions should be good this morning and will likely soften up as it warms up. The tracks were left as is. The trail through the woods is very dirty, but still skiable.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Nicely groomed, but softening quickly in the rising temps. A good day to just take it easy and focus on your soft-snow technique, which may come in handy this weekend. Tracks are solid and straight, but softening and getting icy.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Wow! The classic tracks on the oval are in amazing shape. They were clearly reset and are in great condition and nice and deep. Snow conditions were good during the cooler temps early this morning. Starting to get a little soft and sticky due to the sun at about 10:30 this morning.

The Piston Bully was out Monday night grooming the man made trail. The skate deck was tilled and is in good condition. New classic track was set through out and is good condition as well.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Rangers ran the Ginzu around the trails at about 3:00 pm, with good results. Skate deck was a bit slushy at first, but freezing from below. Some future trouble spots are apparent. Summerstage hill was fast. Magic Carpet also, but not scary fast. Best segment is the west to east leg of the Woods Loop. Biggest problem is the deer with very muddy hoofs walking on the trail.

[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
At 12:30 pm it was 37 degrees and sunny. The state deck was good except for areas exposed to the sun. After 1 hour the areas in the woods were getting mushy. Still is was an enjoyable workout and appreciate the groomers and snowmakers for providing the best xc skiing in SE Wisconsin.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Excellent conditions for skate and stride this morning. The grooming last night provided a consistent surface of a fine powder on a firm base on the lower trails with the new snow. The upper trail, with the older snow, is a little more sugary. The up/down hills are in great shape. The snow is getting sticky and slower as the day progresses.
