Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The man-made loop was not groomed last night and will likely remain ungroomed until the weather improves, as we try to preserve the snow that we have. Conditions will likely soften in most spots as the day goes on with some icy patches.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Very good conditions for skate and stride this morning, but softening and slowing down as the temps rose. A loose layer of snow on a firm base. Classic tracks are variable with some solid and others less well formed. The base is showing some ice along the northeast side of the Field Loop, with less loose snow on top. Newly groomed Playground trails are the best they have been all season. The descent down Magic Carpet is slow, due to the wind and the softening snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out early this morning and tilled, reset tracks, and groomed the playground on all the man-made snow trails. Skiing should be excellent today with the beautiful weather we are having. Good to be back grooming, happy skiing!

Excellent conditions for skate and stride this morning. The Pisten Bully left a shallow layer of loose snow on the firm base, providing a perfect skating surface. Magic Carpet was fast but easily controllable. Nice, new tracks are solid and full depth. Temps were rising and the wind was really picking up, so expect conditions to change.

The Piston Bully was out at night grooming the man made trails. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. New classic tracks were set and are in great condition as well.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
A very firm base with just a little loose snow made for fast, but challenging skate conditions. A strong SW wind was blowing the finer snow off the surface. Best was the climb up the Start Hill, and on the Green Cutoff. Magic Carpet is fast but with just enough loose snow to make it manageable for most skiers. Tracks are solid and fast, and catching some of the blowing snow, providing a kickable surface.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The Piston Bully was out at night grooming the man made trails. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. New tracks were set throughout and are in great condition. The playground was also groomed and should be in great shape for family day Sunday.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Piston Bully was out at night on the man made loop. I set new tracks and tilled up the skate deck. There are a couple rough spots on magic carpet but otherwise it should be pretty nice conditions in the morning.
Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Generally good, but slow conditions for skate. The snow is very cold from the last week and the mixed-in snow from yesterday, so expect a good workout. Sporadic grooming by the Pisten Bully provided a faster surface. The spreading and grooming of the new snowmaking was done when I got there so everything was open, but there are occasional icy spots on Magic Carpet and Hoot Owl that change the speed of the snow surface. Some tracks are brand new and looked great; others are left from yesterday and are a bit more broken down.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
The man-made loop was groomed this morning with the ginzu, and the tracks were dug out and reset. Conditions should be very good with this thin layer of fresh snow. There is a section of the trail closed for some additional snowmaking. It is closed from the bottom of Hoot-Owl Hill to the bottom of Magic Carpet. This means that there will be some two-way traffic in the section that goes through the woods. Please give snowmakers and groomers space while they are out there working. Grooming plans: Plans are to spread that snow later today and then groom it tonight with the piston bully, so the full snowmaking loop should be open tomorrow. Unfortunately, we did not get enough snow off of the man-made loop to groom the rest of the trails. So, for now, those trails will remain ungroomed.
