Reports 154 to 163 of 177    Month: Feb | Jan | Dec | Nov
Tuesday, December 12, 2023
Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Conditions at mid-day were good for skate and stride, but completely different than yesterday. Skate lanes are mostly deep corn snow, especially up Summerstage Hill. Areas with newly made snow are much firmer. Tracks looked good.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out st night grooming our man made trail. The skate deck was tilled and is in good condition. New classic track was set and is in good condition as well. Expect a soft layer of snow on to of a firm deck. Grooming plans: If the weather allows the snow makers will be out again Tuesday night. Hopefully we will have more of the trail open soon.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Good conditions for skating. Firm surface with a mix of compacted crushed ice and new manmade snow that drifted over from last nights snowmaking efforts around the field loop. Still some crunchy spots and a few ridges, but easy to navigate after the sun came out. Striding tracks are semi-solid and fast, with a few bumps and dips. Very nice skiing.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out this evening and I groomed the entire skate deck and reset tracks. Grooming plans: The Snow Makers will be making snow tonight into the morning as the weather permits. Hopefully we will have a loop soon, happy skiing!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Skied this morning after seeing Beattle's report. Ski surface was crushed ice, chopped up a bit. East-West leg was not so good, with larger ice chunks, as a result of holding more water over the last couple of days. North-south leg was much better, and Summerstage Hill was great, both up and down. Generally appears to be enough base for now. Striding tracks were okay, a bit icy, but good for double poling.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Good morning, our little bit of man-made snow with stood mother nature's warm up. I pushed some snow in some of the thinning areas and tryed to get our trail skiable again. It's not perfect, but it should ski way better than before grooming. I retilled and reset tracks on the .9 K of man-made trail that we have open. Happy skiing! The Snow Maker's plan on firing up the snow guns as weather permits in the next couple days. As all of you should know, it does not look like we are getting any cold or snow anytime soon.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Due to the up coming warm weather we have decided to suspend further grooming. When the weather cools down we will evaluate the trails. Hopefully we won't lose too much snow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Good conditions for skate this afternoon. Less chopped up than yesterday, except for the climb up Summerstage hill. Fast as you want it to be with a layer of granular snow on a firm base. Classic tracks were fast, but not that firm.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Conditions this afternoon were good for skate and stride. There was a loose corn snow surface layer on a firm base. Striding tracks were softer than yesterday, but provided good glide. A bit more dirt mixed in with the manmade snow is showing. Still a very nice ski.
