The Piston Bully was out at night grooming the man made loops. The skate deck was tilled and is in good condition. The classic tracks were reset on the opposite side of the trail. Let's ski the trail in the opposite direction for a little bit. Seems like that could be fun. So it's up magic carpet and down summer stage.

Variable conditions - from icy to soft snow - on the manmade snow loops this morning. Park staff went around with the ginzu several times, with mixed results. Some sections, particularly on the Field Loop and up the Pond Loop are very nice. Other segments, such as on the Woods Loop, are hard packed and icy. Overall soften as the day progresses. Tracks are from early Sunday morning, and are icy. There are two bare spots on the tracks around the Field Loop.

Groomed the man-made snow loop this morning with the ginzu. Trails are in fairly good condition. Some spots are still a little icy and hard packed while other areas are getting a little soft. Did not set new tracks, but the old tracks still look to be in decent shape. The trails off of the man-made snow are getting pretty bare.

Spring skiing - again - on the manmade snow loops. A variable layer of slushy snow provides good conditions for skate. Areas in the shade are much firmer and faster than areas in the sun. The Woods loop has the best skiing surface and dampens the gusty southwest wind. Magic Carpet alternates between slick and sticky, depending on the shade. Tracks look good but also appeared to break down easily. I did not see anyone venture off the manmade snow loops.

I had the Pisten Bully out late last night and early this morning and re-groomed and set tracks on our entire man-made snow trails. The DNR continues to groom off the man-made, I believe it is definitely rock ski conditions. Happy skiing!

At noon the skate deck was very packed hard with little loose snow for edging which made the skating challenging. Many skiers on the Saturday had been skiing since they had groomed. By 2pm the skate deck softened with sunny 39 degrees which made the skating better.

Variable conditions for skate and stride on the manmade snow loops. Plenty of snow. Well groomed, flat skate deck, but the combination of hundreds of skiers and warming temps has resulted in smoothing and compaction of the snow, making it harder to set an edge. Different conditions on the lower loops, the field trails, and the woods loops. Magic Carpet is somewhat hard packed from all the skier traffic. Tracks are solid, but icy. Parking lot was full when I arrived this morning. I did not venture off the manmade loops.

I had the Pisten Bully out early this morning and groomed up and set tracks on the entire man-made snow trail system. The snow makers added snow to many of the thin areas and the whole trail system is open for skiing today. The DNR groomed off the man made snow trails last night as well. It should be a good day of skiing at Lapham today. Happy skiing!

Mostly very good to excellent for skate and stride on the manmade snow loops. Firm base, with loose snow, and solid tracks. Generally fast. Ongoing snowmaking operations have create new snow whales, which are slow and ungroomed, on parts of the system, so there's a lot of people going back and forth on the groomed segments. Trails off the manmade have been rolled, but not groomed.

The man-made snow loop, including the playground and Beattles loop, was groomed with the Piston Bully early this morning with new tracks set. The volunteers are making snow until around 1PM today to try and touch up a few problem areas. The only area closed due to the snowmaking operations is "Magic Carpet Ride", the other spots you can still ski past the snowguns. The upper trails were rolled last night but do not have tracks set. The plan is to try and groom them tonight with the ginzu. The man-made loop should be in good condition but everything off the man-made is thin but skiable.
