The skate deck was hardpacked and uneven which made some difficulty with edging. It appeared to not have been groomed recently.

Manmade Loops were surprisingly good Monday afternoon considering no grooming Sunday night. Very skiable with the expected amount of dirty snow in a few places. A little sugary in places, a little firm in others but holding up well. Tracks were decent as well. Good skis ok if careful.

Got out a little before 11am. Park had a lot of people getting in laps today, from the experienced to beginners. Skate deck had fresh man made snow and was fast despite all of the traffic beating up the deck and single digit Temps. The area in the tree section was a little more sugary, but still great skiing today. Looks like they need directional signage, saw several people going against flow of traffic in areas.

Skake skied like from 3-5 pm on late afternoon. The deck then was hard (not surprising), with mostly a thin tilled covering. Uphill through the pines was the exception, with a nice, deeper tilled base. Speeds were slower than they have been, given the low overnight and morning temperatures, but still fast enough to be enjoyable. Magic carpet has no bad spots. Full manmade loop is open, and overall, is in very good shape for both skate and classic. My sincere thanks to all of the groomers and snow makers!

Grooming [ Trails Open: Most, ]

The Piston Bully was out at night grooming the man made loops. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. There is one thin spot on the cut off from summer stage to tail end hill. Other than that it seems the sugar snow has been covered by the recent snow making. New classic tracks were set though out the loop and is in great condition. They are full depth and firm. Grooming plans: A new round of snow making will start sometime next week so stay tuned to possible trail sections being closed.

The Piston Bully was out this morning grooming the man made trails. New snow was made on most of the problem areas and continues to be made in the playground area. The new snow was tilled into the skate deck and should cover the sugar snow in those areas. A new classic track was set with mixed results. Some areas are in excellent condition and some are not. Hopefully they improve with skier traffic. Grooming plans: The Piston Bully will be out tonight to touch up the skate deck. It will also be out Saturday night to groom again. Thanks for your patience as we get the trail system back together.

Grooming [ Trails Open: Partial, ]

The skate deck of the snowmaking loop was groomed with the Ginzu early this morning. The entire snowmaking loop is open. There are a few thin spots and may be a couple icy areas, but conditions should be pretty good throughout the day. Classic tracks were left as is and are full depth and appeared to be in good shape. Grooming plans: There are plans to make some snow overnight to fill in some of those thin and icy areas. Please use caution if you see the snowmaking equipment or groomers out on the trails and give them space.

The skate deck is well tilled, with a sort of dry, fine, shallow snow cone feel to the snow on the deck. The full manmade loop is open, and overall is in excellent condition. None of the trails off the manmade loop are open, but there's still plenty of snowmaking trail open there to get in a nice long workout/ski. Magic carpet has no treacherous or bad spots. The only place on the loop that could use some work IMHO is the short "cut-through section of trail" within the loop, that goes from the starter's shed, past Lupo Pond and the playground. The deck is a bit uneven there, especially near the starter's shed. Classic tracks overall in good shape too. Great to see all of the little kids out there today skiing with their parents, and having fun.

The groomer reported good conditions last night and I found the skate deck fantastic. Not icy with loose snow for edging. I skied 21k the longest in my 12 times this season. It also my fastest ski. There was by far the most skiers on the trail but with the full man-made and wide trails it did not seem crowded.
