[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The man-made trail skied pretty well this afternoon despite the sun and warm temperatures. The deck was slushy but not terribly wet slushy and still icy down Magic Carpet and somewhat in the woods. The tracks were busier and in good shape considering circumstances. Thank you snowmakers and groomers!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
It's not perfect but it will ski. The Piston Bully was out at night chewing up the ice that was left after the warm up. We've lost a considerable amount of snow. I was able to push snow onto areas that were bare and icy. The trail is narrower in areas. Classic track was set throughput and is in ok condition. Skate deck is in good condition. Snowmaking will resume when the weather allows. Please be patient with trail closers as we have a lot of trail that needs more snow in order to survive the next warm spell.

Pretty hard and icy. Solid ice section at bottom of the magic carpet. Groomers have done a great job building a base and keeping it solid despite the warm temps, but unless you like skiing on ice, not worth the drive today.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
Recent rain and warm temps have definitely taken a toll on man-made trail. But, the trail is still well covered and very skiable with a firm, wet, "rough", and somewhat dirty base. Magic Carpet downhill is good until it meets the base loop. Look out for ice/slush/standing water on the trail and in the tracks at the base. Tracks are still there in a much more thawed shallow/wider form. I was very lonely, with only 5-7 other skiers on the trail in upper 40's temps! Very blessed to be skiing thanks to all the trail snowmaking volunteers!!

Did some laps tonight. Man made loop in good condition all things considered. No bare spots. No issue getting an edge.

Despite the 42 degrees, mist and fog, the ski conditions were surprisingly good. It was enjoyable 15k ski.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Skied the manmade loops around noon on classic skis. Skiing was good despite the temperatures rising into the 40's with fog and mist. Mostly clean snow with occasional spots of pine needles and deer tracks. Skate lanes were still firm but softening. Some skaters thought it was better than yesterday due to a softer top layer. Tracks were still holding shape but becoming slick or moist. Lower loops had slick or wet tracks and upper wooded loops were just slick. There was a very short section near the trailhead obviously slushy/wet.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Sadly the weather has taken a turn for the worse. We will not be grooming for the foreseeable future. Rain may open up some bare areas so please ski with caution. Grooming plans: We will be back out grooming when the temperatures drop below freezing and the trail drys out.

Classic skied the man-made loops around noon. Very busy with families. Trail was in excellent condition for both skate and stride after grooming this morning. Holding up well to the heavy holiday traffic. Fully covered with clean snow. Mostly fresh snow in the mix from last weeks snowstorm. Tracks were full depth. All man-made trails are now open including the 1-mile Woods Loop. All loops are now skiing the normal directions, mostly one way. Other park trails are rock skiing only. Kudos to the snowmaking volunteers.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out early this morning grooming the entire manmade trail system. New tracks were set and skate deck was tilled on all trails. Both look to be in great shape. Enjoy skiing. Please don't expect trails to be groomed Christmas Eve or Christmas Day unless Santa makes a surprise visit in the Pisten Bully.
