Great day out on the trails. Groomers had been at work over night. Skate deck was great and classic tracks were firm. Great snow coverage everywhere. Relatively few skiers out--made it feel like you had the place to yourself. Thanks to the volunteer Snow Farmers/grooming team for their great work on getting the trail in prime condition.

All trails were groomed Friday night, excellent condition. Full depth classic tracks and skate. Two way traffic to get to the Northwest trails (Rogers Ridge area) due to thin ice.

Wonderful skiing today at Mora. 1/2 inch of new fluff on the skate deck made for first rate skating, and the classic track was in super shape for classic. Good excellent coverage everywhere. This is the place to go if you are tired of oak leaves. Very few oaks here. Some pine debris here and there but easily avoided. Almost the entire system was open and groomed, including the super fun Roy's Ridge.

The trail team regularly grooms all 10k with the PistenBully every Friday, and one to two times per week with the Yellowstone. Current trails are in great shape, ready for family fun this holiday weekend.

From Vasaloppet: With the light snow received yesterday there is skiing again. Snow coverage is better in the woods and recommend using your B skis. Yellowstone groomer used on the trail from Nordic Center, to the bowl and then to the Vasa hills about a 4 k loop. Snow farmers have been making snow this week and will start hauling onto the trail system.

From Vasaloppet: Mora did not receive very much snow this past week, so the trails do not have much snow coverage and are in poor condition. Our volunteer team of snow farmers have finished harvesting their crops, the temps are cooling off, so they will soon be up and running full speed ahead with snowmaking, spreading, and grooming the trails. Stay tuned.

Made the trip to the Vasaloppet Nordic Center this morning (8:50-11:00). Temp was 16F at the start and 29F at the finish. I was shocked with the snow coverage. It seems like about 2.7 km was rolled and groomed. The rest of the trails were rolled and very skiable. It was so worth the trip. VNC is a gem of a place.

Wow. Some of the best central-Minnesota-mid-November skiing I've ever had. Were there sticks poking up? Yes. Was it a bit uneven? Also yes. Can I complain? Absolutely not. Huge shoutout to the groomers for doing what they could with a bit of natural snow. I would still use rock skis, but amore snow should take care of that. I would certainly recommend making the trek out to Mora for this 2ish kilometer loop!
