Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I did most of the blue, had a few dirt and gravel kick-ups, but not bad. There were a lot of small bare spots on the classic tracks. Some of the uphills were thin but all the downs were well covered. Cold day and slow skiing but I got in a solid workout.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate skied all trails except full distance of blue. Overall, good coverage and firmer snow compared to yesterday. Still soft and pole plants were hitting rocks underneath. However, when looking at the bottom of my skis afterwards, I noticed no new scraps from debris, rocks etc. Generally speaking uphills saw more dirt/snow/rocks and the downhills were fun with few exposed rocks. Because of the coverage on the downhills, I always took a break and "analyzed" the best I could...no falls which is a great feeling. Track appeared to be laid throughout but I did see spots that had grass coming through. I'm told the area got the fluffy snow both times this past week compared to Greenbush which seems to have gotten a heavier snow Friday. It felt really good to not be at Lapham even though I appreciate that area when no snow is everywhere else.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skate skied the entire trail system except red with B skis. Base was uneven in some areas of blue/green trail but firming up nicely. Some rocks mainly on uphills. I removed many branches and a few rocks exposed by groomer. Track was fun on most downhills. Leaves and pine needles visible in sections of track. I'll be back when it warms up!

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied the orange red and white trails. Good coverage but very soft so B skis in case you push through. Nice to ski in the woods again. Should be better after it sets up.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
The skate deck had been groomed which had left a depth of 1 to 2" due to the soft snow. There were many small patches of grass that were easy to avoid. I did two loops of purple trail, brown trail, and partial Orange trail. It was challenging to skate due to uneven skate deck of thin depth but still enjoyable to be in the Nordic forest trails after 30 days at Lapham. I avoided the blue, red, and orange trails due to rocks with the thin snow base.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Classic skied the purple trail this morning. The groomer has not set tracks but other skiers have created a decent track around the.purple loop that is worth coming out to ski on. There are some thin spots under the oines.but overall, good snow coverage. The brown loop looks like the groomer set classic tracks. I also started down the red/green/orange trail but turned back because, no classic tracks were set or skied in by others. The groomer was out until about 1pm and it looked to me like they were grooming the skate ski decks.

Observation
[ Trails: Closed ]
Trails are a mix of bare ground and 1 inch or 2 of blown fluff. Plenty of foot traffic. Nothing here for skiers.

Snow was slow but coverage was enough to keep moving. Southern section (e.g. purple) much better than northern (e.g. Green). Lots of rocks and debris to dodge on Green. Purple surprisingly clean and skatable.
