Notes

The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

I live 200 yards from the trailhead at The Deeps. The Pisten Bully just drove by the end of my driveway leaving. Thus, I believe the trails are now groomed.

Not groomed at all. Looks like some machine did come through and created some packed paths which allowed for very strenuous classic skiing.

Evening
Observation
Walked a trail that crosses the Lester ski trails at about 4:00 this afternoon. The ski trail was ungroomed after our recent heavy snow, and it looked like only a couple of people had tried to ski it. The snow there is very, very wet. The nearby walking was pretty slushy.

Lester remains ungroomed, with a speedy, transformed skier track that's starting to get blown out. S.

As others have noted trails aren't groomed but I was surprised by how good of a track had been kicked in for classic. Thanks to those who paved the way! Still not packed down for skating. Some trail lights were on when I was there in early afternoon.

Second ski at Lester but it is not groomed. I saw online a report that the city's grooming vehicles (for before there's enough snow for the Pisenbullys) are both out for mechanical issues. Went to Lester anyway, had a blast. Always nice to be in the woods. Stopped at Marshall's to renew my ski pass on the way. Snow is good enough from the chalet and higher that the only spot I saw a rock exposed was on the steep ramp up out of the chalet. Otherwise, I'd feel comfortable skiing the whole thing with a headlamp. And you should bring a headlamp if planning on skiing after dark because the lights were off.

Even though Lester is completely snow covered, it's not groomed for skate or classic. Lots of uneven skied-in tracks. Despite the lack of grooming, I skied classical and it was still enjoyable.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
No grooming as of 4 pm when I finished up but classic tracks had been kicked in. Full coverage but not super deep yet so an occasional piece of grass, etc. poke through. What a beautiful day out with the sun shining brightly! Definitely better than no snow at all!

Rough classic skier-tracked. Plenty of snow coverage. Not rolled yet after the fresh snowfall but gorgeous in the woods.

Beautiful new snow at Lester Park. I classic skied from "I" at the top down to "A" and back. Beautiful first tracks in a winter wonderland. Lots of snow, no rocks, no dirt. Some of the lights are on. It is ready to groom.
