Great conditions today on what looked like grooming from yesterday. It was transformed/fast, even around 1PM with high sun, but the grooming softened things to give an edge. Some of the south facing hills were developing cream cheese conditions but not enough to damper the experience. The connector (and Upper Spirit!) is groomed if you're looking for extra distance.

Icy fast! We tried to time it out so that the sun would soften the trails but not turn everything to mush. It was skiable, but fast. The tracks were rockets!

Conditions were fast with transformed snow, but not particularly icy and with ability to take an edge on downhills. New location for me to ski, but now one of my favorites in Duluth area. Highly recommended for intermediates and above.

Great conditions at Magney today. The track was deep and firm and the skate deck was firm. Very little leaf debris today. With Magney's long uphills and long downhills it doesn't get much better or more fun then skiing Magney under bright blue skies in 20+ degree weather with perfect grooming.

I skated while my wife classic skied the Bardon Peak and Ely Peak loops. Conditions were excellent for both; skate deck was firm and smooth, and the tracks consistent and well-set. Minimal debris or ice. Fantastic day to be out!

A gorgeous (but cold) evening to ski. Classic tracks looked great. The skate deck was beautiful. You couldn't ask for much more!

Skate deck has hardened up and is in excellent condition except for some drifting in more exposed upper areas. Classic tracks looked great. A few spots with windblown debris easily avoidable.

We classic and skated Magney today at 11 am and despite what city website states about being groomed on Friday, the skate deck had fresh cord with only one set of deep skate markings throughout! Classic track were 99% debris free, firm and wider than normal. They have not been redone but the new dusting of snow in them made it slower. Pole plants were deep on the right. The right side had so many old deep pole plants that in many places it was frustrating poling, it was almost like footprints on that side. At the middle to end of the last long gradual downhill after the connector turn, the tracks stop and do not resume until well into the turn. Last time they came back right away but on the left side. Skate deck was in great shape... just a couple of spots with "surprise" dips and undulations at the bottom left side of a couple of the steeper, longer hills.
