The conditions at Magney today were superb. The entire trail system was groomed on Friday. The classic tracks were deep, firm and fast. The skate deck appeared flat and firm as well. There was no debris on the trail. With fresh snow, recent grooming and temps in the 20's and Magney's great flow it would be hard to find any finer Nordic skiing.

Divine conditions this morning! Nice deep solid tracks and for once no leaves on the trail at Magney!

Skate deck recently groomed but very soft and narrow. Some very deep pole plants. Occasional spots with dirty snow easily avoided. No classic tracks set. Some classic tracks partially skied in on inner loops, absent on outer loop.

Skied Sunday mid-day. Excellent conditions!! Great roller coaster hills, beautiful woods with sbow still clinging to the trees.

It was icy fast this morning with rocket tracks! You definitely needed to work on the step turns at the bottom of the downhills! The groomer was working on the skate deck as I finished which slowed the downhills (a good thing!) I struggled with kick wax (start Oslo purple). Enjoy!

Magney is still in great form. The skate deck is wonderful with a few spots with soft pole plants, but overall amazing.

Mighty Magney was at its finest today. The trail was groomed yesterday. This is the most snow that I have seen on the Magney trail. When I started at 11 am there was freezing fog and a temp of 22 which burned off as the day went on revealing a beautiful hoar frost in the tree canopy above. The tracks were deep, firm and fast. The skate deck also appeared firm and fast. I used Swix VR 45 which gave good grip and glide.i.

Phenomenal conditions at Magney today—well worth the wait for crews to clear and groom all the trails after last month's heavy snow. The classic tracks are well-set, deep, and firm throughout, and the skate deck appeared even, wide, and not too soft. Near-zero debris. Oh, and frosty tree-tops and blue skies were a treat for the eyes. It doesn't get any better.

Classic skied Magney's main loop, did not do Bardon's or Ely's. It was a very busy place and the trail has been well used. There are footprints down the middle of the skate lane at least to Bardon's. The tracks are surprisingly debris free for the most part except for sticks here and there from trimming that you can easily see. Tracks are also firm and about 2 inches deep and so are pole plants until you get about 2k or so from the end. The pole plants become really soft in random places, the tracks are kinda softer too. Watch your eyes if you are in the classic track, there are quite a few branches hanging over in spots. Huge thank you to those who did the clearing so far...! There was a lot of work done over there. Be aware on the long gradual hill just after the connector, the tracks suddenly switch from the right to the left, that was something new. Some people have skated over the tracks causing them to collapse and creating bumps in them. Someone walked down the middle of a hill or two. It was fast and fun otherwise!

Magney is in terrific shape overall for classic and skating. Most of the trail was recently rolled and tracked, and there's been a dusting of new snow since. The Ely's Peak loop has been rolled but is mostly not tracked; there are still branches hanging over the trail - which made some of the downhills extra challenging - and there's evidence of recent work to clear them, such as sawdust and boot prints. The rest of the trail is pretty well cleared and overall conditions are great. Magney often has a lot of oak leaves on the trails, but did not today.
