Classic skied a couple of laps on the Teuton side. There's generally good coverage, but still a bit lumpy. Looks like there was about 2" of snow from yesterday that was freshly groomed in, but the classic tracks were still mostly crusty, so I mostly strided out of the tracks. A beautiful day to ski.

The Valhalla ski trails received about 3" of fluffy new snow overnight. We set track! They are early season tracks but they're tracks! All loops on the Valkyrie system are packed with the drag and all but one segment of loop A are tracked! And all loops on Teuton side have been dragged and all but A have tracks. There's a little stubble in places so I wouldn't bring your very best skis, and the dips and ruts need more snow to fill in.

Groomers Kaelin and Jonathan report a beautiful day out on the Teuton trails. They pulled the groomer around all loops to incorporate the fluffy snow. Still not enough snow to set tracks, but base is coming along. It's still uneven in a few places, but you'll find nicely packed corduroy the width of the trail! The chalet, warning shelter, sled hill, and trails are all open for some winter fun. There is a $5 day use fee at this site. Enjoy!

Valhalla trails got about 4 inches of lake effect snow. All loops were rolled/packed. We set tracks on the Valkryie side-loop A, little A and loop B. The tracks are shallow and looked a little icy. Loop C was packed with the snowmobiles. All loops on the Teuton side were rolled/snowmobile packed. There wasn't enough snow after rolling to set tracks. The trail is still bumpy and uneven in places and early winter conditions. It was pretty windy when we left, so I'd expect some branches and pine needles to come down. There maybe drifting in places too. Stay safe out there if you brave the cold temperatures. Woods sure are pretty with all the snow now!

Valhalla received about 8 inches of new snow since Thanksgiving. The Tueton and Valkyrie trail systems were packed early this week with snowmobiles. The base is about 2-3 inches. It's a good start, but we'll need more snow before we can groom. Have a great weekend! The parking lot was improved and there are two entrances now for Valhalla if you haven't been up there since this Fall. It should be a great weekend to get out and enjoy.

There was about 8" of unpacked powder. Used my rock skis and stayed in the boot tracks. Nice skiing but don't bring your best skis. The ground is still not frozen and so the pole tips got a little mud on them.
