Hiawatha is freshened up! The multi use trail is groomed for our skijoring, hiking and biking friends. The skate deck is much softer now with the warmer temp and grooming. The classic track looked fine so it was not reset. MYSL has sessions at 10 and 2 on Saturdays and 10, noon and 2 on Sundays with about 90 skiers in each session.

Hiawatha is in great shape - with a reset classic track! Skate deck looked good, too. Noted a bald eagle hanging out at the end of my ski - which was a bonus!

Classic skied two laps at Hiawatha with good conditions! Skate deck looked good as well. There was one small section of missing classic track on the approach to the "hill" on the return to the parking lot but they were intact on the hill!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very hard, cold snowpack base is hard to groom with our groomer. Did a full groom of the ski trail, leaving the classic tracks as is. With the snow so hard, the corduroy was less than great, but at least smoothed over skate ski tracks.

Outstanding grooming! Fun to see the tail end of the sprints for the kiddos. Chilly - yes. Worth it? Absolutely!

Conditions were great at Hiawatha this morning. What a pleasure. No blown snow, some meandering around the 4-track loop.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Fully groomed the ski trail and multiuse trail, including setting fresh tracks on both. The fresh 4" of snow on top of our base makes for really smooth corduroy. Hopefully will set up well overnight. Also groomed a .6 km loop of four sets of classic tracks for tomorrows MYSL Hiawatha SkiSparks Team Sprint. Skate skiers may have to double pole a short section of trail where those tracks squeeze together.

Skied the full loop. The trails haven't been groomed since last night's snow so things were pretty soft and slow. The skate deck was in great shape where the wind had blown the snow off the top. Classic tracks were partially filled in places from blown snow as well.

Very windy and cold. Trails not recently groomed. Everything is windswept. Must know trail markings to get around.

About the best it's ever been at Hiawatha for both classic and skate. Great skis no problem! Thanks groomers!
