Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha is groomed on the ski and multi use trails. Please remember that we groom a separate trail exclusively for our skijorers, hikers and bikers! Grooming plans: We will set a classic track tonight.

I wasn't sure whether it would be worth the effort to come out to Hiawatha today, but I'm glad I did. Conditions were better than I expected. Snow is certainly soft and heavy, but classic tracks were intact and there was good coverage. I messed around a bit on the skate deck and it was pretty sloppy, so I would recommend classic skis until things firm up.

Firm and fast. The skate deck on the middle/right skied smoothly. On the left to pass it had some texture but nothing to worry about. Didn't run into any icy spots. Classic tracks looked good on the whole trail.

Got in a couple loops late this afternoon as the sun set. Sublime skiing! Pretty speedy conditions, but not icy. As always, huge thanks to the groomers!

Groomed and set track on full loop and multi-use path. Snow is icy and hard throughout. A great base for this weekends weather.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The skate deck and multi use trails are groomed, and the classic tracks didn't look like they needed to be reset. Should set up for a fast and firm ski!

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails are in great shape as the large volume of snow starts to pack down. Large loop and 2k cut off were groomed and tracked this morning. Leaving firm conditions. Skijor and multi use trail were not groomed and are glazed but manageable. Should be great conditions for the high school race this afternoon.

Last stop on the afternoon, hit Hiawatha shortly after 4 pm. At least one high school team was out practicing, but really well spread out. Skate deck had been scratched up recently, and with all the traffic, was a little bumpy but no real issues. Classic tracks looked nice, as well as the multi-use trail. Like the other courses, the pole plants were a little soft but still a very enjoyable ski, especially with the mild weather and light winds. Nice way to finish off the day.

I don't know who gets the credit, but the Hiawatha track is in amazing shape! The skate lane is wide and firm, and the tracks look deep and solid all the way around! If anyone (especially beginners or hill-averse folks) wants to ski a gentle, perfectly groomed track right in the city, it's waiting for you on 46th and Cedar! Thank you groomers for doing such a fabulous job!
