2023-2024 season
Reports 2 to 4 of 4    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Due to continued warm temperatures and low snow levels, ski trail grooming operations are on pause until we get adequate snowfall. Sections of the Bally Creek road and Sundling road (C-W and J-H) were last tracked on Jan. 18th. The remainder of the trail system has been rolled but will have plenty of rocks, lumps, bumps, and other debris exposed. Please ski with caution and hope for more snow.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
A small segment of the interior trail loop (A-D-O-N-M-B) as well as the road (C-W and J-H) were the only trails suitable enough for setting a classic track. The wider portions on the road were double-tracked. All other trails were packed and rolled. Very small snow base with plenty of lumps, rocks, and grass sticking up. Rock skis recommended. Reminder that only the A-E segment is open to skijoring, please pick up after your pets. Drivers should take caution as log trucks will be using the road for hauling starting the week of Monday Jan 22.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Our crew has staged all equipment to prepare for the grooming season. Currently the trail is still too rough and rocky to groom, but the large loop (A-G-J-A) and the road section from J to W was packed and rolled today. With only a 3" base on these trails, conditions are still poor with plenty of lumps, rocks, and grass sticking up and users can expect backcountry conditions on all trail segments as we wait for more snow. Rock skis recommended. Reminder that only the A-E segment is open to skijoring, please pick up after your pets.
Bally Creek Road (FR 158) and the parking lot are being plowed but drivers should take caution as some log trucks will be hauling on the road in the near future.
A new map has been posted at the trailhead (and on the website). More intersection letters and markers will be put up with updated maps as we continue rolling. Note the addition of the northernmost trails that were excluded last year (letters V to AA). Also, we will be grooming the Cascade Connector trail down to the Pike Lake Road as conditions allow.
