Generally good conditions nearer the trailhead where it was groomed. I stayed north of Pequaywan Lake Rd. Got a little thin and grassy around 12-11-5. Got a little rough 10-9 (outer loop). And 8-7 was so rough and ungroomed that I had to bushwhack back to the snowmobile road and take it back to 2 and the trailhead. Beautiful area, I look forward to coming back! BTW I skied the loops clockwise (making all left turns).

Trail was tracked this morning. Thin in spots because we only received about 2" new snow. 8" on the ground.

Started out at the main trailhead and then skied over to the south trails but turned back after half hour. The wide open groomed sections are good but once you get deeper into the woods there is a lot of bumps and dips so it becomes more of a balancing act than a ski. Nice to just be out in the fresh powder though.

Went to check out this trail for the first time. Loved exploring the different loops, felt backcountry-ish at times breaking trail, and was magical with the snow on the trees. I stayed away from the frozen pond/bog between markers 5 and 11 as it was warm and the ice looked melty. Huge thanks to the volunteers who maintain the trail, it was a wonderful ski.

Even though there was some natural wood debris in some of the areas, there were areas that were heavenly with well-groomed powdery snow, and the snow on all the trees made for a winter wonderland experience. It was our first time at Mother Bear, and we will be back!

Skied all the groomed trails, which includes everything on the south side of the road and about 1.5km loop on the trailhead side - total is about 6.5 km so far. It is early season and conditions vary on what kind of tree cover you're under. Denser tree canopy and low spots that are wet in the summer result in bumpy trail with areas of moss and a couple rocks that can grab your skis. However, under thinner forest conditions are great! Full depth tracks, fairly even, and little debris. Gorgeous in the woods right now with flocked trees, and it's hard to beat natural snow skiing.

South loop was tracked today. Thin in spots. 7" snow on ground. Grooming plans: Remainder will be groomed in the next few days. High winds over the last 2 weeks have caused many blow downs, so it's slow grooming.
