Notes

The trail system runs through three contiguous city parks: Jaycee Park, Evergreen Park and Maywood Environmental Park. The main trail follows the Pigeon River and is fairly flat, rising a few times into the bluffs above the river. Roughly 3K lit trail in Evergreen Park.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I skied both loops at Maywood a couple times. Both loops had very good snow cover. It was nice to get outside skiing for an hour or so and not have to drive a 45 minutes to get there. I saw two other skiers enjoying this "urban trail" while I was there (and three hikers). Thank you, groomers, for the Christmas gift of groomed trails for those of us who were able to get out and enjoy them.

The inch and half of new snow was groomed into the skate deck on Trail 9 and the Prairie Loop this morning. I did not reset the track. The new snow will fill in the bare spots. Ski it in. Enjoy a ski this morning and an eggnog this afternoon, Merry Christmas!

A nice ski today. The trails have held up pretty well since I groomed two days ago. The only real problem was a fat tire biker had rode down the trails.

Grooming

Trail 9 and the Prairie Loop were groomed and tracked today. The trail is soft. The classic track is thin in spots. It's gorgeous out there. All other trails are no longer groomed but you are welcome to break trail.
