Trail Reports

2023-2024 season
Reports 1 to 3 of 3    Month: Jan
Saturday, January 20, 2024
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Trail conditions were better than expected. We had very inconsistent snow in the Kenosha area, so I had low expectations when I came out today around noon. Overall, there was pretty good coverage, including a decent classic track set in most areas. There were some thin spots, but I wasn't scraping skis anywhere. I did the main loop, but bypassed the Pines area.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Skating lane and a shallow track set over most of the trail system. Heavy debris around the pines and the loop in the back with the big hill left ungroomed. Condition vary from good to poor with 1" powder over a solid 3" ice snow base.

Observation
[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
The trails are water logged. Lake Michigan is helping to provide less snow to shovel and poor conditions for skiing. We hope to try to groom following the colder temperatures.
