Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skating on Saturday morning was pretty good. I only had one ground grab of my skis in 17k and I think that was a stick that I saw. Decent glide on 22 year old skis with the dusting of snow we picked up on Friday. We have enough snow to skate on, but not enough to set tracks. The trails in the fields to the south of the woods are not open yet, they need more snow. For the first time in 2 years, the timer has been set so the lights will be on every night from dusk until 9:00 PM.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Skiing Thursday evening at +3F had the glide of styrofoam. But the skate deck is well covered and yielded some glide in areas. I wouldn't use good skis, but there aren't any big rocks looking to eat your skis for lunch. We have a nice level deck, waiting for snow.
