I skied the blue trail this afternoon and conditions were okay. Downhill was tough in sections with no tracks due to ice under the powder. My kick wax would also stick on the downhills so I would go light on the kick or play with waxes to avoid this. Uphills and flats were a breeze and tracks were fast. Overall, the tracks held up really well with the weather and I still had a good time! The back portion of the trail that is flatter was especially fun. Thanks again to DNR staff for maintaining such a great trail!

I skied the green loop and snow conditions are very fast today. The tracks are perfectly set and after every downhill I glided into the tracks again and often for a good distance. The snow is mixed with ice crystals but most uphills can be skied up. I used Toko red grip wax and plain paraffin glide wax. An excellent combination for me today at 20+ degrees F.

All loops were cut and tracked. We could use some new snow to freshen up the trail, but conditions are still very good.

Today was the best snow of the season. Very fast gliding forever and good grip on the uphills. No pictures will be able to convey the beauty of today. I skied the green loop, but I expect the blue loop to be the same.

Ski conditions were beautiful! Perfectly groomed, full coverage everywhere on trail and no icy spots whatsoever. Someone left a set of ski poles in parking out, which we turned in at the office.

I skied the yellow loop this afternoon. About 2" of new wet heavy snow and about 31 degrees. I didn't expect to have great conditions. So I took my backcountry waxless skis and rubbed paraffin canning wax over the entire surface of the skis, including the waxless pattern. Well I was pleasantly surprised, I had great glide and kick, with no snow sticking to the skis whatsoever. The snow was beautiful with no tree litter on the trail other than a couple small branches. Other than having to use a little extra effort to steer my skis on the downhill curves, it turned out to be a great ski!

1-2" of snow fell on Tuesday. Wednesday's forecast calls for temperatures around freezing and additional snow, rain, and/or freezing rain. We will be holding off on doing any grooming until Thursday.
