Good snow cover. Still soft with some drifting making skate skiing on the golf course challenging. Classic skiing was nice but there are no groomed tracks. A service road crossing the ski trail near the clubhouse was plowed so you might want to take your skis off there to cross it.

After appearing on Sunday as if it had lost a Saturday night bar fight, portions of the skate deck had fully succumbed to their injuries as of mid-day Monday. Significant sections of the skate trail had been largely blown over by the kind of loose snow that gobbles up the tips of skate skis - while other sections disappeared entirely, leaving barely a trace. Follow my tracks and you'll find most of the trail (except for that one part; I was totally lost and off-course there for a moment) - but be prepared to improvise in the variable conditions.

Unfortunately, the low moisture snow and strong winds have partially obliterated the grooming that was done on the golf course. There are drifts of up to 5 inches on the groomed trail. Where there isn't drifting, the trail is quite soft. There are some ok tracks on the golf course. On the other hand, there were a lot of classic skiers reporting good conditions through and around the wooded area on the north side of the park today.

Trails are very skiable and virtually all open. There are some impromptu classic tracks on the golf trails that skied well but not set by the groomer. There was one skate skier doing laps but by the end of the day the trail was worth skiing but a bit chopped up. Good conditions to get out but trail depth is not great leading to poles hitting the pavement underneath at times. The woods trails were reportedly good on the main loops but not good on the connector portions. Plenty of snow to have fun!

Striding on skied in tracks on the rolled skate deck on the golf course trails. Snow was a silky powder that was just fine on skied in tracks. Fishscale waxless skis did well. Skate deck was soft and I did not see any skate skiers on the skate trails. I did not check the wooded "inner" trails.

Groomer was out around 10 am and made two passes on the skate loop. Skate deck was soft and slow, groomer had been out before in the classic side and there were lots of classic skiers out.

Trails were groomed but high winds buried the tracks on the golf course Nice powder. Didn't ski woods loop but people were on them.

I classic skied through and around the woods at day break. Excellent snow and glide making new and following others tracks. 5 inch fluffy base. Thank you to the Milwaukee County Parks crew for cleaning up all the downed, dead trees and for the new bridges going over the creek. Please note there is one new bridge with a bit of a drop off at the end so be careful.

The 6+ inches of light fluffy snow was groomed and compacted to about a 2-3" soft base. Where the skate deck is over asphalt pole tips do hit and wind has drifted snow across skate deck. There appeared to be tracks set on the woods side but I did not ski there.
