Located in the Chippewa National Forest, semi-primitive. Contains Joyce Estate, a historic northwoods retreat with log and stone buildings of Adirondack architecture. Rated beginner/intermediate.Trail Reports

Grooming [ Trails Open: All, ]

Rolled and feathered all Trout Lake and Doan Lake trails. Base is thin and soft. No tracks set. Doan Lake trails are ok to ski with pretty good coverage. Trout trail south of Spring Creek is also ok but you might hit some gravel on the hills. Spur to North Trailhead not as good. Last hill before Joyce Estate is not skiable.

4" light fluffy snow. Rolled all Trout Lake and Doan Lake trails. Soft and thin but should set up nicely. No tracks set. Grooming note: Leaving the roller ridges helps more snow collect on the trail. Ok for rock skis if you're in the "I'll ski on anything" crowd.
