In my opinion, the best snow around within an hours drive from Madison. Tons of man made base and firm skate deck on the Siberian highway loop and perfect grooming for classic with nice deep tracks.

Blackhawk groomed the trails and the snow was pretty good. The skaters were flying around while the classical skiers were gliding on icy track in most of the trails with some tracks being softer than other areas. Good to get out even though it was quite brisk in the windy areas. Man we could sure use some soft natural snow.

It was nice to get out on a partly sunny day. I classic skied and it was pretty nice. There were no tracks set so it was a bit slippery in places. I had metal edges on which helped. Snow was nicely groomed and the skaters were having fun it looked like. Hopefully we will get some of mother natures snow and tracks can be laid.

Well it was variable conditions today. Where the sun was the snow was pretty soft and sweet. Where the shade was, which was most areas, it was pretty icy. I am a Blackhawk newbie so don't know much of the area but it looks like it will hold snow as lots of it is on north side of hills. It was fun skiing in 50 degree weather but it could be way more fun skiing on a bunch of new snow.
