Another fun afternoon at Wirth. Skied from 394 through the Butler and Bog trails. If you're going out after dark tonight, beware of snow-less south facing hills. There are a few steep downhill sections in Butler that will require taking skis off and walking unless you are particularly adventurous. I didn't ski to the golf course but saw some open sections near Wirth Lake and imagine there may be exposed pavement on Tornado Alley.

Thank you Robert Ibler and your Loppet grooming staff! What an unexpected treat to have all of the natural snow trails rolled from the Trailhead lot, all the way to 394. Skied the golf course, JD Rivers, Butler and the Bog and back - amazing to finally get back on those trails for the first time this season. Coverage was really good except a few thin areas where the bike paths are showing through that were melting quick in that Spring sunshine. Tornado Alley, 55 underpass, the bridge to JD Rivers, the areas along Wirth Lake road/parking and the road/parking lot at Butler were all getting thin by 11 AM. The wooded areas were great and the golf course was in good shape too. I hope they roll again tonight.

First ski of the season (!) on the Wirth South trails - and it was the perfect lunch hour ski of the year. Skied from the Trailhead to 394 around 11am and conditions were great for skating - considering it's the end of March! The curb at the bottom of the Eloise Butler downhill is no worse than low snow years... just prepare for the occasional curb and asphalt exposure. Thanks to the Loppet trails crew for the end of season fun.

I can't believe this is the first time this year on natural snow! By 2:30 pm, the entrance under the little bridge was bare/water, as was the 55 underpass. Skyline was in good shape, and there were plenty of user-made tracks if you wanted. Tornado Alley was developing some thin/bare spots in the sunny areas toward 55, but also had alternatives for classic skiers. With no signs, expect some two-way traffic. Everyone had huge smiles on today.

They rolled! Golf course, Gardens, Butler, and Bog have all been groomed. Surprisingly good coverage in Butler. A few rough spots but all are easy to avoid. Get after it!

Skied Butler and Bog this morning. Great to see it rolled. A little lumpy bumpy but decent overall and fun to be out.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
We got out and rolled the natural snow ski trails from the Trailhead south parking lot all the way down to 394. Conditions generally seem pretty good, with some thin spots, especially on paved areas, some slush, and some spots that have been plowed to some extent, like the Eloise Butler parking lot. We don't have any signs or maps out anymore, so familiarize yourself with maps on the loppet website before you get out if you don't know the trails well.

Not groomed but great coverage throughout Wirth! Skied all of the Bog and Butler trails. We weren't the only ones out enjoying the fresh snow. If it doesn't rain too much over night, trails should be great tomorrow.

Rock ski conditions for sure, but fun skiing nevertheless. The only place that I had to take skis off was the steep south-facing hill that overlooks Anwatain pond.
