Tracks on Lake and Hill trails were icy. I ended up skiing on the skate deck, or the shoulder to the right of the tracks. The man-made snow loop was much better.

Did some klister skiing on the natural snow trails and I have to say it was great. The groomers are doing an amazing job. Tracks were intact and had seen little use. I kicked Start Wide on one ski and Guru 39 on the other.

Fantastic conditions on the man-made snow loop today. Groomers got everything nice and firm; snow is a little soft as you might expect with the recent warm days but snow was still reasonably fast and it was a beautiful day to be out!

Skate skied all the trails early afternoon. Best conditions of the year and my fastest ski. All trails were well groomed, and in good condition. Thank you groomers for your great work.

Classic skied the full snowmaking loop and the Lake/natural snow trail. Fantastic glide! Very firm snow. Excellent tracks everywhere. Boulder Ridge downhill was fast but manageable. Skin skis had surprisingly good kick in the tracks. When I stayed in the tracks on the downhills, I was going so fast on the steeper downhills that I had to squat almost onto the skis to keep from being flung out of the tracks on the turns! Very fun! The park seemed almost deserted.

Skated all man-made and natural trails at 11am. As expected, they're a bit soft/slow/sticky. Still great to get out in the warm weather though!

Skate skied all of the trails at Hyland, snowmaking and natural snow, and all were in fantastic shape! The rain yesterday caused no noticeable damage. No ice anywhere. No debris on the trails anywhere. Classic tracks appeared deeply set everywhere. By 1:15 PM a few small areas that were in direct sun with no breeze had started to soften up just a bit. But 95% of the state deck was still very firm, and cloud cover was increasing.

With temps in the mid-30s, the snow was soft with a few mushy spots. But the tracks on Lake and Hill trails were very good, deep and holding shape. There were a few short stretches of choppy ice/snow, and some variable wet/hard areas, but overall conditions were excellent for this kind of weather.
