Trail Detail
Notes
With trails from beginners to expert and a very modern, heated trail center, Wild River State Park is one of the hidden gems for cross-country skiing in eastern Minnesota. The Aspen Knob loop is extremely challenging.Trail Reports

Trails were getting soft and snow is fading fast, but it was a beautiful day to be out. I skied primarily the Mitigwaki Loop. The bike trail portion was better, but very short pole plants. Conditions ranged from fair to poor. Lots of footprints from inconsiderate hikers who have been able to hike all winter. Lots of swans on the river. Be careful as conditions diminish and more dirt and debris will start poking through and creating bare spots soon.

Grooming [ Trails Open: Partial, ]
|
A portion of the trails were packed and combed with the roller Friday. The corduroy looks nice, but is definitely thin. Hopefully it sets up well overnight. Trails rolled include Mitigwaki, Old Logging, Walter F. Mondale River, Deer Creek and the east side of the Amador Prairie Loop. Sun and warm temps will chase the snow away quickly, so get out while you can. Maybe fair conditions, on 5.5" of new snow February 14.
