Carver is in great condition and all trails are open. Skied before, during and after grooming this morning and the snow coverage was great throughout!

Skied the freshly groomed King, and Lake trails. I passed the Gator groomer(classic) and snowmobile groomer (skate) on the Grimm. Warming trailer is open along with an open fire.

Transition day at Carver. Started out on Grimm at 9 am hasn't been groomed in a while. Snow was fast (except for the downhill to the lake for some reason) but I had trouble following the blown-over tracks with my waxable skis. Switched to waxless and did Lake, Sky, and Suger Bush which were all recently groomed followed by 3 laps on King which was groomed very recently. Watch out if you follow the track as I did down to steep hill at the start of King. The tracks are groomed around the corner at the bottom so you have to jump out. I saw the groomers out on King clearing brush and as I hoped they started grooming Grimm while I was lapping King. I couldn't leave without getting first tracks on the fresh Grimm grooming. It was actually much slower than my first lap but the tracks were mostly very good. There is a longish blank spot in the new grooming on Grimm after the big downhill on the NW corner. When I caught up with the groomers they said a stick got caught (they were doing a lot of cleanup on Grimm also).

Skied Sugar Bush, Lake, and King trails. Absolutely beautiful; I didn't want to leave. The trails are in very good condition, the only caveat being some unevenness due to grooming equipment ruts, snow depth, and other things. The snow also varies a bit in spot in firmness, so sometimes your pole will go 10 inches down into the snow unexpectedly. But fantastic trails in general.

Well....I have never groomed a ski trail but it appears the groomer did their thing when things were very warm. The beginner trails have deep deep snow mobile tracks all along them (three sets actually so there isn't much escaping them). Some of that on Grimm too unfortunately. But better than the beginner trails. We are going to need a lot of snow to undo the damage.

Skated Sugar Bush and Sky trails. Trails were in much better shape than I expected. I'd say both were fair, mostly because of grass, leaves, and twigs. There was much more coverage than I expected; nice fast snow that held up well. A lot of fun. I probably could have used my good skis, as I didn't see anything that would be damaging or injuring, but I'm glad I had older skis just for peace of mind.
